Few games have quietly built momentum quite like Bellwright. After spending considerable time in Steam Early Access and earning a Mostly Positive reception from players, the medieval survival RPG has now made the jump to consoles, bringing its blend of settlement building, large-scale battles and open-world role-playing to a whole new audience.

From Fugitive To Revolutionary
Bellwright drops players into the role of a man wrongly accused of murdering a prince, forced into hiding after being sentenced to death by the Crown.
When an assassin’s contract surfaces years later, questions begin to emerge about what really happened. Returning to the kingdom he once fled, the protagonist finds himself at the heart of a growing rebellion, determined not only to clear his name but also uncover the truth behind the conspiracy that changed his life forever.
That sets things up nicely for some blending of personal storytelling with kingdom-wide conflict, giving players a reason to fight for more than simple survival.
Build Villages, Raise Armies, Liberate A Kingdom
While there are plenty of survival games on the market, Bellwright looks to stand apart through the scale of its ambitions.
Players begin with little more than a camp, gathering resources, hunting wildlife and crafting essential equipment. Over time, that humble starting point can evolve into thriving settlements populated by recruits who contribute their own skills and knowledge.
Villagers can become craftsmen, workers and soldiers, helping to strengthen the rebellion while unlocking new technologies, buildings and opportunities. Every liberated region brings fresh resources and new allies, steadily expanding your influence across the kingdom of Karvenia.
The result is a game that combines survival mechanics, town management and RPG progression into a single experience.
More Than Just Survival
Combat also plays a major role in Bellwright’s appeal.
Instead of simply swinging a sword and hoping for the best, players can choose from a range of medieval weaponry, including axes, swords, bows, polearms and heavy weapons. Directional combat systems place an emphasis on timing and skill, while larger encounters allow players to command entire formations on the battlefield.
Managing troops, organising attacks and leading soldiers into combat becomes just as important as gathering resources back at home. Should you be one of those players who enjoy strategy alongside action, Bellwright appears keen to deliver both.
Console Players Get The Complete Experience
One of the biggest advantages of arriving later on console is that Xbox and PlayStation players aren’t getting an early version of the game.
Bellwright launches on consoles with the major updates added throughout its Early Access period already included. That means access to additional content such as the sizeable Halmare Isles region, expanded storylines, new buildings, equipment, animals and faction systems from day one.
The console edition has also been optimised for controller play, ensuring players can comfortably manage settlements and armies from the sofa.
“We’ve always wanted to bring Bellwright to the largest audience possible, and now PlayStation and Xbox players will be able to play the full game with over two years of major content updates,” said Creative Director and Project Lead Florian Hoffreither.
Having already surpassed one million sales during its time in Early Access on Steam, Bellwright now gets the chance to see whether console players are equally eager to answer the call of rebellion.
