Mecha BREAK, from developers Amazing Seasun, is the newest free-to-play extraction shooter on the Game Pass, Xbox and PC market – good for those of us who lament the absence of Helldivers on Microsoft’s consoles!
Turn On the War Machines
Now available on Xbox and PC (and coming day-one to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, with exclusive cosmetics), Mecha BREAK is an action-packed, bombastic third-person shooter that chucks you into mech-suits and tasks you with punching the living daylights out of what another.
In fact, it’s not all melee, with a number of ranged options also available if you are that way inclined. Piloting the BREAK Striker, your goal is to work with the mysterious S.H.A.D.O.W. organisation to rebuild a world broken by a powerful but pathogenic new mineral known as Corite.
How this translates to gameplay is multi-fold. Each of the three unique game modes in Mecha BREAK is multiplayer-based, ranging from the quite simple 3v3 Deathmatch, to 6v6 Team Competition in a hero-shooter style, but the PvPvE Extraction mode may appeal to the widest audience.

Mecha BREAK also benefits from the Xbox Play Anywhere system, with the game fully playable and progressible across Xbox and PC, and saves available across both formats.
As is the norm for a free-to-play game, there are a number of add-ons for the game. Grab some Corite in whatever size pack you wish, with them running from 100 Corite for 99p, right up to the big 3000 Corite (£29.99) or 4700 Corite for a cool £46.99.
