Planet Coaster 2 Toybox Pack

The latest expansion for Planet Coaster 2 is here to transport you back to the days of childhood imagination.

Frontier Developments has today, December 4th, 2025, launched the Toybox Pack for Planet Coaster 2, a vibrant and playful new DLC that allows park managers to unleash their inner child with a host of new rides and nostalgic scenery.

Available now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam, this expansion arrives just in time for the festive season, bringing a whimsical new aesthetic to your parks alongside a substantial free update for all players.

Unleash Your Imagination with the Toybox Pack

Priced at £9.99, the Toybox Pack transforms your parks into a sprawling playground built from the toys of yesteryear. The focus here is on creativity and fun, allowing you to craft a world where every corner is filled with colour and childhood wonder.

This isn’t just about placing pre-made assets; it’s about recreating the chaotic creativity of a child’s mind. The pack introduces a vivid new scenery theme filled with nostalgia. You can construct towering skyscrapers from bright plastic pieces, build imaginative fortifications using stacked wooden blocks, and utilize creative cardboard assets to bring your park to life.

And, of course, there are plenty of googly eyes to stick on everything. Keeping watch over this new domain is Max Stormcloud, a heroic action-figure Entertainer dedicated to keeping your guests safe and happy.

Five Delightful New Rides

The expansion adds five sensational new rides, each inspired by classic toys and designed to delight guests of all ages:

  • VECTOR: A new-gen inverting suspended coaster that offers free-flying fun as guests soar through the sky with their legs dangling.
  • F&N THRILLER INDUSTRIES – Kid Coaster: A lively steel rollercoaster that speaks to the child in everyone, offering a thrill ride suitable for the whole family.
  • HIGHROLL: A dizzying flat ride featuring six independently rotating gondola arms that reach high into the sky for maximum spins.
  • WAVESIM: The game’s first-ever water-based flat ride! This innovative wave machine challenges guests to grab a surfboard and catch some gnarly waves.
  • AIRDROP: A tall tower ride that acts as a perfect visual landmark, yo-yoing guests up and down for great views of your park.

Free Festive Cheer and Weather Woes in Update 8

Alongside the paid DLC, a major free update (Update 8) has been released for all Planet Coaster 2 players. This update reintroduces the Festive theme, perfect for adding a sprinkling of holiday cheer to your creations.

It also brings new gameplay challenges with the addition of snowy and stormy weather, which will test your management skills as you battle the elements. Enhanced management tools and fan-favourite blueprints are also included, ensuring there is something new for everyone to enjoy.

Building on a Solid Foundation

Planet Coaster 2 has already established itself as a leading simulation title on consoles. In our 4/5 scored review of the base game, we praised its evolution of the franchise:

Planet Coaster 2 is a worthy follow-up and another fab continuation of the wider ‘Planet’ franchise. The water parks don’t intrude too much… and most of the new inclusions add to that simulation side of things successfully… there can be no doubt that Frontier Developments remain the standard bearers for simulation management games on consoles.

The Toybox Pack builds on this success by injecting a fresh, playful spirit into the game, while the free update ensures the simulation remains deep and engaging.

Whether you’re looking to build a plastic metropolis, send your guests surfing on the new Wavesim, or simply enjoy the festive atmosphere, the Planet Coaster 2: Toybox Pack offers a wonderful way to rediscover the magic of play. The expansion is available on digital stores now – like that of the Xbox Store, for instance.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
