Buildest Keyart
Buildest – out now on console

A unique cooperative action game that is all about the art of architecture has just laid its foundations on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch – Buildest.

A game where you can explore different historical eras and build unique buildings, Buildest from developer MAYO Games and publisher Sometimes You is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch for £10.74.

Prepare to explore, craft the necessary materials, and order your workers to build as you travel through time and discover all the architectural secrets of the past.

A Journey Through Architectural History

The core of Buildest is a grand tour through seven different and distinct historical eras. You will get to visit and explore:

  • Ancient Egypt
  • Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome
  • Ancient Asia
  • The European Middle Ages
  • European Baroque
  • European Art Nouveau
  • American Art Deco

Each era contains a multitude of new architectural elements for you to use in construction, and each also opens up other new and unique game mechanics as well.

Examine, Gather, Build

Being an architect is easy, right? All you have to do is examine the design plan, gather the necessary resources by exploring the level, craft the materials, and then give the order to build. It’s that simple!

As you progress, you can unlock new crafting recipes to create your own unique designs, and even experiment by combining architectural elements of different styles.

You don’t have to take on this historical journey alone. You can choose to play solo, or team up with up to three friends in 4-player co-op to speed up the building process.

Another Unique Blueprint from Sometimes You

Publisher Sometimes You continues its mission to bring a massive variety of unique and often bizarre indie titles to console players.

The creative co-op action of Buildest joins a diverse library that has recently included the surreal and memorable adventure MOUTHOLE and the Lovecraftian horror of The Nameless City.

It’s important to note that Buildest on Xbox does not support Xbox Play Anywhere.

Your Architect’s Toolkit

Here’s what you can expect from this new co-op building adventure:

  • A Co-op Action Game About Architecture: Explore, craft, and order workers to build.
  • Travel Through 7 Different Eras: Explore cultural features through architecture, from Ancient Egypt to Art Deco.
  • Unlock New Crafting Recipes: Experiment and combine architectural elements to create your own designs.
  • Play With Friends: Supports solo play or co-op for up to 4 players.

The blueprints are ready and a journey through history is waiting. If you’re a fan of unique, creative co-op games, Buildest is ready for you on the Xbox Store right now, playable on Xbox Series X|S fully Optimised, or in Xbox One form. It’s also on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

It’s time to get building!

Buildest Description

In short, the game is similar to other co-op action games, except this one is about architecture. Explore the level, craft the necessary building materials, and order workers to build. You can play alone or with friends up to 4 players.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
