RoadCraft – get building on Xbox, PlayStation and PC

The masters of magnificent mud and serene snow, Saber Interactive, are back with a brand new challenge – RoadCraft!

RoadCraft, their next-generation advanced simulation focused on disaster recovery and large-scale construction, has launched.

Published by Focus Entertainment, this highly anticipated title (so anticipated, we included it in our best games of May article) is available right now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, inviting you to reshape devastated landscapes solo or with friends.

The Standard Edition is priced at £34.99, while the Rebuild Edition, packed with extra content, is available for £44.99.

From Backyard Toys to Next-Gen Physics: The “Sandbox Memories” Vision

RoadCraft arrives with a stunning CGI Sandbox Memories trailer, crafted by Digic Entertainment (the wizards behind Space Marine 2’s epic trailers).

This trailer beautifully captures the game’s essence: taking that magical feeling of playing with construction toys in your childhood backyard and elevating it into an advanced simulation where the only limits are your imagination and the laws of physics.

Seriously, give it a watch…

Reshape the Aftermath: A Deep Dive into Gameplay

In RoadCraft, you run a disaster recovery company specialising in restoring sites devastated by natural disasters. An advanced physics simulation powers your every interaction as you:

  • Operate Heavy Machinery: Take control of over 40 vehicles, from powerful bulldozers and excavators to towering construction cranes.
  • Rebuild Infrastructure: Your primary tasks involve clearing debris, replacing faulty equipment, and meticulously rebuilding roads and bridges damaged by severe weather.
  • Manipulate Materials: Interact with elements like wood, sand, and asphalt using Saber Interactive’s new physics engine, allowing for realistic material handling and construction.
  • Logistics Management: Choose your itineraries carefully through hazardous environments like abandoned factories, submerged dams, or out-of-service solar fields. As operations manager, you’ll plot point-to-point routes on your map to guide your transport trucks and logistics convoys, ensuring no obstacles block their path.
  • Recycle & Reconstruct: Every piece of debris can be recycled into valuable reconstruction material, adding a strategic layer to your cleanup efforts.

Solo Efforts or Co-op Reconstruction

You can tackle the monumental task of rebuilding alone, or team up with up to three other players in online co-op.

Collaborate to clear sites, construct essential infrastructure, and manage complex logistical challenges across 8 vast maps, each 4 km² in size, set in various regions around the world.

Choose Your Rebuild Package: Editions Detailed

  • Standard Edition (£34.99): Includes the full base game.
  • Rebuild Edition (£44.99): Includes the base game PLUS:The Rebuild Expansion: Featuring 2 additional maps filled with new contracts, activities, and utility vehicles.
    • Aramatsu Bowhead 30T: A formidable tracked heavy dump truck with a 360-degree rotating base.
    • Invictus Type A: A powerful and unique scout vehicle for reconnaissance.

The Masters of Mud, Snow, and Now… Roads!

Developer Saber Interactive has an unparalleled pedigree in creating deeply engaging off-road and heavy machinery simulations.

Their previous titles, the critically acclaimed MudRunner, the massively popular SnowRunner, and the recent exploration-focused Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, have set the standard for the genre.

RoadCraft looks to evolve this expertise into the realm of large-scale disaster recovery and construction.

Key Aspects of Your Rebuilding Odyssey

In RoadCraft, you’ll operate over 40 powerful vehicles to rebuild devastated areas across 8 vast maps, either solo or in 4-player co-op, all powered by an advanced physics simulation.

Manipulate materials like wood and asphalt, construct new roads and bridges, and manage complex logistics by plotting convoy routes and recycling debris.

Can You Rebuild a Broken World?

RoadCraft offers a unique and deeply immersive simulation experience, blending satisfying heavy machinery operation with strategic planning and cooperative gameplay.

If you’re a fan of Saber Interactive’s previous work or love the idea of tackling large-scale reconstruction projects, it’s available right now on the Xbox Store for Xbox Series X|S. You’ll also find it on the PlayStation Store for PS5 and over on PC storefronts.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
