Camp Sunshine – scares on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch

A blood-soaked summer camp nightmare awaits in Camp Sunshine on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

From Fossil Games and Hound Picked Games is Camp Sunshine, the cult classic horror RPG. It is found slashing its way onto Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S today, as well as PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.

Originally released on PC a good few years back (2016, no less!), this chilling homage to 1980s slasher flicks is ready to terrify a new generation of console players.

A Summer Vacation Turns Deadly

When Jez arrives at summer camp, he expects fun and friendship. But as darkness falls, a masked killer emerges, turning the idyllic campground into a bloodbath. Now, Jez must fight to survive the night, unravel the dark secrets of Camp Sunshine, and escape the clutches of the Summer Camp Slasher.

Camp Sunshine is a pixelated tribute to classic slasher films, complete with jump scares, eerie atmosphere, and a gripping narrative that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Explore the haunting grounds of the camp, uncover hidden diary pages, and confront the terrifying truth behind the killer’s rampage.

Features That Will Send Shivers Down Your Spine

  • Survival Horror Gameplay: Evade the killer, solve puzzles, and manage resources to survive the night.
  • 16-bit Pixel Art: Immerse yourself in a beautifully crafted world with detailed environments and character sprites.
  • Spine-Chilling Narrative: Unravel a gripping story filled with twists, turns, and terrifying revelations.
  • Unique Lighting Mechanics: Use your flashlight to navigate the darkness and uncover hidden clues, but beware of draining its batteries.
  • Hidden Lore: Discover the dark history of Camp Sunshine and its founder, Isaac Illerman, through hidden diary pages.
  • Intense Boss Encounters: Confront the Summer Camp Slasher in heart-pounding encounters.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that Camp Sunshine is finally making its terrifying debut on consoles,” says Paul from Fossil Games. “Back in 2016, when our little two-person team unleashed it on Steam, we were blown away by the incredible response. Now, bringing our love letter to 1980s slasher horror to a whole new audience feels like a hauntingly perfect dream come true.”

A Love Letter to 80s Horror – now on console

Camp Sunshine is available now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, through the Xbox Store for the price of ÂŁ6.69.

You’ll also find it on the storefronts of PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. Of course, if you prefer to play through Steam

Whatever, pack your courage, grab your flashlight, and prepare for a terrifying summer camp experience you won’t soon forget.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
