When Ratalaika Games bring a new game to market, you can be sure of three things – it’ll be cheap to purchase, over in relatively no time at all, and chock-full of easy to earn achievements and Gamerscore. But Radio Squid throws in something else too; weirdness.
Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One and PS4, with a Nintendo Switch launch rocking up on the 19th June 2020, Radio Squid was first created by Pixelteriyaki, a London based software engineer, digital artist and game developer, before being pushed out to the modern console player via the Ratalaika Games team.
But what is Radio Squid. Well, it’s as weird as the title suggests, giving you the chance to check out no less than 24 different stages that are brought to life via some rather wonderful monochrome visuals. These are needed too, as it is they which allow the chance for you to wander through this strange world as a young squid – a squid who is rocking a curse. It’ll be up to you to lift that curse, making the most of the power of your siren song in order to take down your enemies.
By shooting off numerous projectiles to the sound of the music, there is immediately much to love about the release of Radio Squid on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch
Features include:
- Explore 24 different levels of the sea
- Beautiful monochrome pixel art graphics
- Change the pixel art colours to suit your visual preferences!
- Listen to some snazzy chiptune beats
Radio Squid will set you back £4.99 – discounted to £3.99 for two weeks after launch – and you can get it right now from the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store. If you prefer the Nintendo Switch way of life then you’ll need to hold on a little longer.
