Forensic ME Protocol – now on Xbox and Play Anywhere

Those old crime dramas make it look easy. A detective strolls into a crime scene, spots a tiny clue everyone else somehow missed, and within an hour, the case is wrapped up. But the reality is a little messier than that, and FORENSIC – M.E. Protocol looks keen to remind players just how much work goes into uncovering the truth.

Now available on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Play Anywhere for £10.49, following previous recent releases on Steam and PlayStation, this forensic investigation sim swaps shootouts and car chases for evidence gathering, analysis and good old-fashioned detective work.

Science Over Sensationalism

In FORENSIC – M.E. Protocol you’re handed a pair of gloves and tasked with examining crime scenes, collecting evidence and reconstructing events using logic and forensic science. Across nine standalone cases, you’ll investigate everything from kidnappings and conspiracies to crimes of passion, with each story promising its own twists and unexpected turns.

Miss a clue and you may miss an important piece of the puzzle. Follow the evidence correctly and the bigger picture gradually begins to emerge.

And every scene tells a different story. Whether you’re investigating a quiet residential neighbourhood or a far less welcoming back alley, every location has been designed to hide details waiting to be uncovered. Rather than simply clicking through dialogue, players are encouraged to analyse evidence carefully and consider how each piece fits into the wider investigation.

Tools Of The Trade

Drones, ground robots and chemical analysis tools all play a role in uncovering hidden evidence and piecing together events. It’s a welcome step beyond simply searching rooms manually and helps reinforce the feeling that you’re conducting genuine forensic work rather than just solving a traditional puzzle game.

Combined with evidence reconstruction systems, there’s plenty here for players who enjoy methodical investigations.

And you don’t need to worry about any countdowns forcing decisions, nor any fail states rushing you through scenes. Instead, FORENSIC – M.E. Protocol allows you to investigate at your own speed, examining clues and testing theories until you’re confident you’ve found the truth.

Time To Put On The Gloves

FORENSIC – M.E. Protocol is available now on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Play Anywhere for £10.49 (through the Xbox Store), having previously launched on Steam and PlayStation.

If you’ve ever watched a crime drama and found yourself more interested in the forensic team than the detectives, this might be the investigation you’ve been waiting for.
