Teku has a gift – and he must use it to save his tribe’s shaman from a rival tribe, the Wakcha. For Teku’s left hand is nothing more than a simple candle, but as simple as it is, it must be used wisely in order for Teku to carry out his quest – bringing light to the darkest of areas and warning off a variety of enemies in Candle: The Power of the Flame.

With a number of dangerous traps and obstacles standing in Teku’s way, as well as some fiendish puzzles along the path, you as the player will be navigating the beautiful, natural, watercolor environments using Teku’s candle to spot elements around your surroundings that could come in use, hopefully culminating in taking another step in resistance against the Wakcha.

If you can take your eyes away from the astounding hand-drawn visuals and ears away from flaring South-American beats accompanying the soothing narrator, then you will find Candle: The Power of the Flame is a neat little puzzle-platformer that can be enjoyed by all. You can pick it up for £15.99 (or with a discount if you act fast) on the Xbox Store, or alternatively keep an eye out for the game’s release on Nintendo Switch and PS4.

If you still need any doubts extinguished, then I’m sure our review of the game can help.

Game Description:

Candle is an adventure with challenging puzzles. Play as Teku, a young novice on a dangerous journey to rescue his tribe’s shaman from the evil tribe of the Wakcha. But the way is littered with sinister traps and difficult obstacles. To master these challenges, you need to have keen eyes and a good sense for your environment, or your next step may be your last. But Teku has a special gift: his left hand is a candle. Let it be a bright beacon to drive off your enemies or to shed light on dark places. Gorgeous hand-painted watercolor visuals give Candle that special flair, as all backgrounds and characters have been carefully drawn and then scanned, picture after picture. The game consistently feels like a living painting.

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
