We’re pretty used to delays to the release of many a video game but that doesn’t ever mean it gets any easier to take. The latest for us to have to worry about affects Carmageddon: Max Damage.
Originally penciled in for an early June release, Stainless Games and Sold Out have today announced that the game will now release on July 8th 2016. With an Xbox One and PS4 release date set, the latest installment of the cult racing series will bring a shot of vehicular carnage, power up fueled destruction and a whole ton of pedestrian pummeling. With insane PowerUps, crazy environments and a wide variety of ways to win, Max Damage promises to bring many a violent – and a rather hilarious – experience.
The new date of July 8th allows the development team extra time to give the game a final polish before delivery and ensure it’s the best it can be for a new audience of console gamers.
To accompany the news of the slight delay, Sold Out have announced their pre-order offer for the boxed retail edition of Carmageddon: Max Damage. If you fancy getting involved early, then pre-ordering the game will see you receive the following:
- Two extra player cars: The “Tez Eagle” and the “Iron Hawk”
- Four skins: Two additional paint schemes for each of the cars
- Digital comic: An exclusive digital download for pre-order customers, entitled, “Where Eagles Die”.
Max Damage, homicidal star of the Carmageddon series and driver of the Eagle R, had the final word: “Hang on to yer helmets people… I’m comin’ to getcha!”
