Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, we’ve had our beady eyes on Dovetail Games’ The Catch: Carp & Coarse ever since it was first announced back in April 2020. Since that time we’ve had the chance to go hands-off with the game via a developer presentation, and have been able to quiz the team at Dovetail in an exclusive interview in order to discover more about what is on offer. It’s safe to therefore say we’re pretty excited that launch day has come around. And you should be too.
Priced at just £19.99, The Catch: Carp & Coarse is sure to appeal to those who think there is nothing better than sitting by a stretch of water for hours on end, hoping and praying that a catch will come. Working the line as a species hunting fishing game, this is all about ‘the catch’ as you play your fishing techniques and utilise some hardcore rod and reel wizardry in order to land the biggest fish you’ve ever seen.
With no less than 35 different fish to go for, 125 legends of the deep in the form of Boss Fish, and a whole host of various venues to master, there is much to like about what Dovetail have squeezed in to The Catch. Even more so when you consider the fact that it’s not just a single player experience – running the multiplayer route and taking part in a variety of tournaments and events will see your skills really put to the test.
