jurassic world evolution 2 update
30 years since Jurassic Park

It’s been some 30 years since the Jurassic Park franchise hit our screens. What better way to celebrate that iconic release than with a free update for Jurassic World Evolution 2?

We’re big fans of what Frontier have put together with their Jurassic World Evolution games. Having honed their skills with the original Jurassic World Evolution, before building it out with Jurassic World Evolution 2, if it’s dinosaur themed park building you want, these offer it.

There are even a ton of expansions available for Jurassic World Evolution 2 too. The most recent is that of the Feathered Species Pack, but you’d do well to check out the bigger Dominion Biosyn add-on too.

The free celebration update

But this is all about the free update that Frontier are pushing come June 8th 2023. This comes about thanks to it being some 30 years since the release of the original Jurassic Park film, way back in 1993. Delivered by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, it’s one of the most iconic films of all time – and the new update plays as a tribute to that.

The update for Jurassic World Evolution 2 contains everything you need to design the ultimate Jurassic Park tribute. You’ll find a colourful statue of the ever-smiling Mr. DNA, the park’s original educational mascot, to the classic Airlock Gates from the original film.

Fans can also add a new banner arch bearing the words “When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth,” construct the Les Gigantes Mural, which conjures scenes of freshly escaped Velociraptors on the hunt for Tim and Lex, and place the Power Bunker in which some of the film’s central characters take refuge.

Further to that the update adds more. Players can direct guests and staff around their parks using a set of classic paths, faithfully designed to evoke their Jurassic Park counterparts. Completing the update are further decorative items such as the T. rex and Alamosaurus skeletons, ever-memorable ‘Big Pile of …’, Small Electrified Fence, and more.

Get Jurassic World Evolution 2 in your library

You’ll need a copy of Jurassic World Evolution 2 in your digital library in order to enjoy this update. The game is present and correct on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC.

PlayStation Plus subscribers will find the base game available for free throughout June. Xbox players can grab it through Game Pass and the Xbox Store.

Just fire up the game and the Jurassic Park celebration update will be yours from June 8th. The update will be available for all players on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows Store and GeForce Now, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
