The humble farming simulator has become to go-to game to relax and unwind with over the years. Older players will remember the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons, whereas younger gamers will have started with Stardew Valley. Whatever you position, one more to add to the list is never a bad thing. And that new one goes by the name of Homestead Arcana, out today on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can also download it and play straight away.
Conversely to many other farming simulators, you are not playing as a farmer. You are instead playing as a Witch. That is because as well as farming, Homestead Arcana has another side to it.
The world you explore has been overtaken by an entity known as the Miasma. In here it changes creatures to become more deadly, to the point where only a Witch can master the magic and spells needed to survive the Miasma and find out the secret behind it.
On your journeys into the Miasma you will uncover new plants, ingredients and spells. Using these new items, you can help grow your farm and in-turn be able to journey even deeper into the Miasma.
And let’s not forget your furry feline friend, Huckleberry, who will be accompanying you on your journey as well.
