A vibrant dose of Japanese pop culture has arrived to revitalise your sprawling metropolises in Cities: Skylines.

Paradox Interactive has released a trio of new Content Creator Packs, bringing the bustling aesthetics of Tokyo’s Shibuya district, a collection of diverse new maps, and a fresh radio station to the acclaimed city-building simulation on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

This exciting new content offers players more ways to unleash their creativity, all available individually or as part of the new Shops of Shibuya Bundle.

Discover the Energy of Shibuya and Beyond

Designed by talented Cities: Skylines community creators, these packs inject unique architectural styles and challenging new landscapes into your game.

  • Shops of Shibuya Content Creator Pack (£4.99) – Created by community creator ‘Stop it D.’, this pack allows you to bring the iconic energy of one of Japan’s most famous districts to your cities. It features a mix of low and high-density commercial buildings, three unique buildings, two parks, and 47 props, all capturing the essence of a trendy fashion hub with sleek storefronts and bustling boulevards.
  • Map Pack 4 Content Creator Pack (£4.99) – From community creator ‘Uncle Ron’, Map Pack 4 expands your horizons with 10 new maps inspired by stunning real-world rivers, dramatic landscapes, and breathtaking coastlines. Whether you dream of building on tropical archipelagos or nestled within alpine fjords, these maps, along with 10 new intersections, offer unique yet realistic settings for your next urban masterpiece. The maps span various climates, including temperate, tropical, European, and boreal themes.
  • Harumi Nights FM Radio Station (£3.29) – Set the perfect mood for your city-building sessions with Harumi Nights FM. This new radio station adds 16 tracks inspired by the neon-lit streets and vibrant nightlife of modern Japan. It’s the ideal soundtrack to transport you to bustling shopping districts and hidden alleyways as your city comes alive after dark.

The Shops of Shibuya Bundle

For the ultimate Japanese-inspired expansion, all three new DLCs are available together in the Shops of Shibuya Bundle at a discounted price of £11.24. This bundle offers a comprehensive way to infuse your city with new aesthetic and geographical possibilities.

Important Note for City Planners

It is crucial to remember that this new content is specifically for the original Cities: Skylines game. It is not compatible with Cities: Skylines – Remastered for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

While we’re still eagerly awaiting more information on the much-promised Cities: Skylines II, this update ensures the enduring classic continues to receive fresh content.

Still Building Worlds, Still Being a God

Cities: Skylines has consistently been a benchmark for city-building simulations, offering unparalleled freedom and depth. In our review of the Cities: Skylines – Xbox One Edition, we concluded: “I am very much enjoying my time with Cities: Skylines… You can build better cities, experiment with designs and become a god… If you love taking charge, want to manage worlds, balance budgets and take on a heavy load in your quest to become god, then this is the game for you.

These new Content Creator Packs, meticulously crafted by the community and implemented by Tantalus Media, further extend that incredible sense of creation.

Whether you’re designing a vibrant new district inspired by Tokyo or embarking on a build across a dramatic new landscape, the world of Cities: Skylines continues to offer endless possibilities.
