Citizen Sleeper – Episode: REFUGE is out now

There’s a decent chance that you would have already take in what Citizen Sleeper had to offer, if only because when it released back in May, it came powered by Game Pass. Today though it’s time for the second free episode and update to hit home – REFUGE.

From the Fellow Traveller and Jump Over the Age teams, Episode: REFUGE is the second free content update for the acclaimed narrative RPG, Citizen Sleeper – following on from that of FLUX which arrived a couple of months back.

Episode: REFUGE brings the three-episode story expansion to its thrilling mid-way point, readying players for that the third and final update will bring at some point in 2023.

REFUGE focuses on a strange event that sends ripples through Erlin’s Eye. You will enter the refugee flotilla that arrived during FLUX to understand this new threat, and help the refugees stabilize their community.

During the playthrough you will also get to meet Sol, captain of the Pilgrim Seed, the biggest ship in the flotilla that arrived in FLUX, and the refugees’ unofficial leader. Hailing from Ember’s Hearth, the largest moon of the gas giant Ember, Sol is a quiet pragmatist who is expected to shoulder some heavy responsibilities on behalf of the fractured flotilla.

But there’s more and Aki is another new character who appears in Episode: REFUGE, a refugee from the moon Ember’s Step. Found among the strange, amber “dusthouses” of a massive ship, what can she reveal about the fall of Ember’s three moons?

For free, there’s as good a reason as any to fire up Citizen Sleeper once more and take in the new tale. With the game available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass (have an Xbox Store link on us), PC (Epic, Steam, GOG, Humble) and Nintendo Switch, the reasons for missing this one get less still.

We’ll be sure to let you know when the third and final Citizen Sleeper episode arrives. It won’t be until 2023.
