CLAWPUNK
CLAWPUNK – out now

If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if you mixed arcade nostalgia, 90s cartoon chaos and a squad of heavily armed cats, Clawpunk has just launched to answer that very specific question.

Now available on Xbox Series X|S (£7.99), PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, this explosive 2D action roguelite is here to scratch, slash and absolutely shred its way into your library.

Welcome To A World Where Cats Don’t Play Nice

This is no Stray and Clawpunk wastes no time proving it’s a game with attitude. You choose from nine fierce feline fighters, each armed with their own weapons, stats and special attacks, before dropping into the riotous Feral City – a place where everything wants you dead and, thankfully, almost everything can be destroyed.

This is a full-throttle melee-first experience built around aggression. The more you push forward, the more powerful you become, with special abilities recharging through your own combo-fuelled carnage. That doesn’t mean it’s all claws and close-quarters – ranged weapons also make an appearance, letting you unleash chaos from any distance.

A City Built To Be Blown Apart

Across five themed zones – the first four playable in any order – you’ll tear through destructible arenas packed with enemies, hazards and increasingly ridiculous action. From tight melee corridors to wide-open streets perfect for ranged attacks, Clawpunk constantly switches up pace and style.

Helping you leave even more devastation in your wake are collectible cards that permanently enhance your chosen cat, on top of the roguelite progression already encouraging you to dive back in and try new builds.

Clawpunk At A Glance

  • Nine playable cats, each with unique weapons and stats
  • Fully destructible environments across five themed zones
  • Melee-focused, aggressive “push-forward” gameplay
  • Ranged weapons and special attacks for added flair
  • Collectible cards that enhance and mutate your feline fighters
  • Hard metal and synth soundtrack to keep the claws sharp

Cartoon Carnage

The whole game leans into chaotic energy. It’s colourful, destructive, loud and wonderfully over-the-top, evoking the spirit of arcade beat ‘em ups while piling on modern roguelite progression and physics-driven mayhem.

Clawpunk arrives with claws sharpened and zero interest in subtlety – and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it so appealing. With its destructible world, frantic combat and roster of attitude-packed cats, this might be one of the wildest action-platformers to drop this year.

If you’ve been itching for something fast, explosive and delightfully unhinged, Clawpunk is more than ready to pounce.

You’ll find Clawpunk on the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox Series X|S. It’s also on the PlayStation Store, has both a Steam page and one on Epic, and is available over on the Nintendo eShop.

Game Description

Prepare yourself for the ultimate adrenaline rush with CLAWPUNK, a pulse-pounding, melee-focused 2D action game infused with roguelite elements and an array of badass cat characters.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
