There’s been a murder, the suspects are still inside the mansion, and the clock is ticking.

Clue: Murder by Death launches today on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC, delivering a narrative-driven whodunnit set in the refined yet suspicious world of 1930s England.

Developed by Cocodrolo Games, this investigation-focused mystery challenges players to uncover the truth behind the death of Lord Robert Anderson, and to do so before Scotland Yard arrives to take over the case.

A Murder, A Mansion, And Two Hours To Solve It

In Clue: Murder by Death, players step into the role of investigator John Smith, tasked with uncovering the truth behind a suspicious death in a sprawling mansion filled with secrets. With just two in-game hours before authorities arrive, every moment counts.

The mansion itself becomes a character in the story; a labyrinth of 166 rooms, hidden clues, and uneasy conversations. As you explore, interrogate suspects, and gather evidence, you’ll begin piecing together the circumstances surrounding Lord Anderson’s final moments.

But nothing is quite as straightforward as it seems. Think Cluedo, but different.

Seeing The Truth From Ten Perspectives

One of the most intriguing elements of Clue: Murder by Death is its multi-perspective storytelling system. Players don’t investigate the crime from a single viewpoint and instead, they experience the same events through ten different characters, each with their own biases, relationships, and interpretations.

A suspicious object noticed by one character might be ignored entirely by another. Conversations can shift in tone depending on who is present. The truth becomes something players must assemble themselves, piece by piece.

This design encourages replayability, with each investigation loop revealing new information and contradictions.

A Classic Whodunnit With A Modern Twist

Clue: Murder by Death leans into the traditions of classic detective fiction, evoking the tension of Agatha Christie-style mysteries and the deductive satisfaction of Sherlock Holmes investigations.

Players must ultimately answer the three defining questions of any great mystery:

  • Who committed the crime?
  • How was it done?
  • Why did it happen?

Only when you’re confident in your conclusions can you gather the suspects together and make your accusation.

Get it wrong, and the truth may slip away.

Key Features Summary

  • A looping two-hour mystery narrative
  • 166 explorable rooms inside a Victorian mansion
