Code Vein II
Code Vein II – take in the new story trailer

The Vein of the Lost is calling once more, and a stunning new story trailer has given us our first deep dive into the epic, time-bending journey that awaits in CODE VEIN II.

The long-awaited follow-up to the hit 2019 action RPG is officially launching on January 30th, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

This new trailer, revealed today by Bandai Namco, focuses on the game’s rich narrative, its memorable new cast of characters, and a world on the brink of ruin where you will wield time itself as a weapon.

A Legacy of Fantastic Storytelling

The original Code Vein was a fantastic and stylish take on the “Souls-like” genre, and one that we praised for its narrative ambition. In our review, we called it a “great new addition to the action RPG genre” with a “fantastic story arc” and “tons of things to find and explore.” It was a game that challenged us with some incredibly tough bosses but left us with a compelling story.

This new trailer for CODE VEIN II proves that the team at Bandai Namco Studios is doubling down on that narrative focus, promising an even more dramatic and emotional journey shaped by fate, sacrifice, and choice.

A Glimpse into a World on the Brink of Ruin

The new story trailer introduces us to a future where the last remnants of humanity and the vampiric Revenants struggle against a world on the verge of total collapse.

You will take on the role of the Revenant Hunter, a new protagonist on a desperate mission to prevent the “Resurgence,” a cataclysmic event that threatens to end everything.

Your journey begins when you are revived by Lou MagMell, a mysterious Revenant girl who gives you her own heart and, with it, the incredible power to travel through time. Accompanied by Lou, you must traverse between past and present versions of the world to rewrite history and save the future.

A Memorable New Cast

The trailer also introduces us to some of the legendary new heroes and villains you will encounter. Among them are JosĂ©e Anjou, the powerful “Queen of Solitude” who once ruled a sanctuary that has since been swallowed by the sea, and Holly Asturias, a gifted healer who is burdened by the ominous title of the “Reaper Witch.”

Your journey will span across haunting, post-apocalyptic landscapes, including the flooded ruins of the Sunken City, the terrifying Undead Forest, and the isolated MagMell Island. All of this is brought to life by a powerful and dramatic original score from the acclaimed returning composer, Go Shiina.

Bound by Blood and Fate

While the trailer’s focus is on the story, it also gives us a glimpse of the signature gameplay that made the original a hit. The core of the game is still built on using blood drained from your enemies to unlock a variety of powerful skills and building your strategy with different “Blood Codes.”

The sequel will also feature a new, dynamic Partner System, where the powerful bonds you forge with your fellow Revenants will play a huge role in your journey.

The first chapter of a brand-new, time-bending saga has been revealed, and it promises to be an epic and emotional journey.

With a compelling new cast of characters and a world that spans across the past and the present, CODE VEIN II is set to deliver a story-driven experience that fans have been dreaming of. The fight to save the future begins on January 30th, 2026.
