King Slime in Cashtle – out now on Xbox and PC

Sometimes a game’s title raises an eyebrow before you even press start. King Slime in Cashtle – yes, spelled exactly like that – is that game.

It’s available right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (Optimised) and Windows PC for ÂŁ4.19, bringing a precision platforming challenge wrapped in a slightly tongue-in-cheek premise.

Published by 2dragontails (recently behind Solar Machina) and developed by Kitnet Hostage, this compact 2D platformer asks a simple question: what happens when the ruler of the slime kingdom goes back through their own castle, to collect every missing tax coin?

A King With A Tax Problem

In King Slime in Cashtle, you take control of the gelatinous monarch of a slime kingdom with a very specific task: to track down every tax coin scattered throughout the castle’s sprawling chambers.

What follows is a tightly designed 2D platforming adventure set across dangerous castle biomes filled with spikes, traps and tricky jumps. The premise may lean toward the absurd, but the gameplay is firmly rooted in classic precision platforming design.

Every jump, dodge and mid-air adjustment matters. Miss your timing and you’ll quickly find yourself starting the section again.

Precision Platforming Inside The Castle Walls

The castle itself acts as the central playground, filled with hazards designed to test player reflexes. Tight corridors, deadly traps and carefully placed obstacles turn what looks like a simple run-and-jump game into a more deliberate test of control and timing.

Precision platformers thrive on that balance between challenge and satisfaction; the moment when a tricky sequence finally clicks and the path forward opens up.

Long Live The Slime King

King Slime in Cashtle is available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (Optimised) and Windows PC, with three platform versions available through the Xbox ecosystem. Just hit those links and grab the edition best fitting of your needs.

At ÂŁ4.19, it offers a quick-hit platforming challenge that players can dip into whenever they fancy testing their reflexes.

If you’re looking for a small-scale platformer with tight jumps, dangerous traps and a slightly ridiculous premise, this slime ruler’s tax collection mission might just be worth investigating. After all, every kingdom needs its taxes collected… even if the king has to do it himself.
