Commentated gameplay footage released for The Spectrum Retreat

-

If you like puzzlers then The Spectrum Retreat will most definitely be something to keep an eye on. And not only has a release window been set, but today we get the opportunity to watch no less than 11 minutes of gameplay – all being commentated on by the developer.

Coming to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC this summer, The Spectrum Retreat is a first person puzzler that takes place in the near future at The Penrose hotel, a peaceful yet unsettling refuge from the outside world. Taking on the role of one of the most valued guests, your existence is embedded into the corridors and guest rooms of The Penrose. And it will only be by exploring the hotel will you begin to uncover the mysteries surrounding it and the uncertainties surrounding your current stay.

Expect to find plenty of colour coded puzzles, mind bending physics challenges as the fear of exposing your true intentions continues to grow. Your desire to unearth the truth is obstructed by an array of colour coded first-person puzzles, mind-bending physics challenges and the growing fear of exposing your true intentions.

It is the video below which will whisk us delightfully into this world, showing off the all new gameplay as the commentary details the pristinely eerie Penrose Hotel and unique colour-coded puzzles included. With basic colour swapping mechanics learnt in early levels, you won’t be shocked to hear that they will become increasingly complex later in the game. In addition, the footage hints at the narrative arc of the The Spectrum Retreat and the potential turmoil players might experience within its walls.

Take a watch of it below and get ready for a summer of puzzling action.
