Construction Simulator Evolution – announced for Xbox, PlayStation, PC

Hard hats at the ready – Construction Simulator: Evolution has officially been unveiled, and it’s aiming to take the long-running sim series to its most ambitious level yet.

Revealed during the Galaxies Spring Showcase, the latest entry from astragon Entertainment and weltenbauer Software Entwicklung is set to expand the formula in some big, hands-on ways.

Coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC in late 2026, this new instalment doesn’t just want you to build – it wants you to get your hands dirty in entirely new ways.

At A Glance

  • Game: Construction Simulator: Evolution
  • Developer: weltenbauer. Software Entwicklung
  • Publisher: astragon Entertainment
  • Release Window: Late 2026
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC
  • Modes: Solo and up to 4-player co-op (cross-platform)
  • Key Additions: Demolition, manual labour systems, expanded machine roster

Not Just Building – Now You Can Tear It All Down

For the first time in the series, demolition plays a major role.

That means it’s no longer just about constructing roads, buildings and infrastructure, you’ll also be tasked with tearing structures apart, opening up a whole new side to the gameplay loop. Expect heavy machinery, collapsing environments, and the kind of controlled chaos that feels long overdue for the franchise.

Yet perhaps the most surprising addition is the introduction of manual labour systems. Beyond sitting in the cab of massive machines, players will now step out and tackle jobs directly, including:

  • Plastering walls
  • Using nailguns and table saws
  • Operating hydraulic tools

The Biggest Fleet Yet

Scale has always been a selling point for Construction Simulator, and Evolution pushes that even further.

With over 180 officially licensed machines from more than 35 brands, this is set to be the largest vehicle roster the series has seen. New partners like Volvo Construction Equipment, Ammann and Epiroc join the line-up, expanding both variety and realism.

For fans of heavy machinery, it’s shaping up to be a seriously stacked garage.

Two Campaigns, Two Regions

Evolution introduces two brand-new maps, Germany and the USA, each with its own campaign. Each offers different challenges, contracts and environments, giving players a bit more variety in how they build – or demolish – their way through the game.

And as with previous entries, flexibility is key. You can tackle projects alone or jump into co-op multiplayer with up to four players, with full cross-platform support. Whether you’re coordinating large-scale builds or just trying to keep things from falling apart, teamwork will play a big role.

There’s also a new Quick Play option, letting players jump straight into specific activities without committing to longer sessions.

Building On Solid Foundations

The last entry in the series delivered a surprisingly deep experience, even if it wasn’t without its quirks.

As we said in our 3.5/5 review of Construction Simulator: “There’s plenty of content and tons of detail included; enough to give you a shot in the arm as you look to build out your construction business…”

With demolition, manual labour, expanded fleets and broader maps, Construction Simulator: Evolution feels like a genuine step forward rather than just another iteration.

It’s still unmistakably Construction Simulator, but now with more ways to play, more to manage, and more opportunities to create (or destroy). And when it launches in late 2026, it could well be the most complete construction sim experience yet.
