We’ll admit to being surprised by Taiko no Tatsujin when it released on Xbox and Game Pass back in January, as it delivered a rather brilliant rhythm action game with a musical playlist that was totally diverse. It’s those tunes which are the focus again today though, as the Taiko no Tatsujin drum continues to bang with the addition of multiple DLC packs – game crossover DLC packs at that.Â
Available to purchase, download and add into your Taiko no Tatsujin: The Drum Master base game right now are three new content packs, each of which bring something new to the table – Beat Pass Vol. 1, Game Music Pack and the Studio Ghibli Pack.Â
We’ll take the Beat Pass Vol 1 first as that’s the largest of the options now available to players and this will set you back £15.99 in cash. Pay up and you’ll have the chance to take in the joys of six DLC packs, two of which are available today.Â
In all, the Beat Pass Vol 1 will add 24 new tunes to Taiko no Tatsujin, and whilst you’ll need to wait for DLC 3 through to DLC 6 Song Packs (expect those in the weeks ahead), DLC 1 and DLC 2 are here.Â
These are the two aforementioned Studio Ghibli and Game Music Packs. Each of these are included in the Beat Pass Vol 1, or individually purchasable should you so wish.Â
The Studio Ghibli Pack costs £3.49 and includes three tunes – My Neighbor Totoro – Ending Theme Song (From “My Neighbor Totoro”); A Town with an Ocean View (From “Kiki’s Delivery Service”); and Merry-Go-Round of Life (From “Howl’s Moving Castle”). You’ll find the download at the Xbox Store.Â
Further, and this is the one that excites us the most, is the Game Music Pack for £3.99. This adds no less than five new tunes, ripping tracks from the likes of Tekken 7, ACE COMBAT, RIDGE RACER, SoulCalibur and GOD EATER. Full track names are…
- – Heat Haze Shadow 2 (From Tekken 7)
- – No Way Back (From GOD EATER)
- – IN THE ZONE (From ACE COMBAT X2 JOINT ASSAULT)
- – EAT’EM UP! (From R4 -RIDGE RACER TYPE4-)
- – Brave Sword, Braver Soul (From SOULCALIBUR II)
You’ll need a copy of the Taiko no Tatsujin: The Drum Master base game in your library in order to enjoy these DLC packs, but with that playable through Game Pass, there’s no reason not to give it a go. From there, hit up the Xbox Store links above, whether that be for the full Beat Pass Vol 1, or the two individual packs.Â
