You have to give it to Techland – once they get their teeth into a game, they continue to push it forevermore. It’s something they did with the greatest zombie game of all time in the original Dying Light. And it’s something they are continuing with the sequel. Today no less than 4 new DLC packs arrive in Dying Light 2, helping you continue to survive.Â
Available to purchase, download and add into your Dying Light 2 base game are 4 new downloadable content drops for Techland’s brilliant open-world zombie parkour affair. Each bring something just a tiny bit different to the game too, with new kit, gear and more included.Â
The 4 packs are the Scarred Survivors pack, which in turn includes the Rahim Bundle, the Nightrunner Bundle and the Post-Apo Bundle.
Scarred Survivors will set you back £14.99 and is the most expensive of the new options on the table, mostly as it brings everything else under one umbrella. It’s here where you’ll find access to all three other packs and so if you’re one of the many who are continuing to nightrun in Dying Light 2, this is probably the best bet. It’ll ensure you get to save a little bit of cash over individual purchases too.Â
If not, and should you be looking to only dip your toe into the new content without going overboard, then you may find it best to run one of the other three packs on an individual basis.
Do that and the Rahim Bundle for £5.79 will let you live out life as Rahim, scavenging the streets. It brings a couple of new Outfits, a new Pickaxe and Rahim’s Paraglider, as follows…
- Rahim Outfit – “Y’know why runners put their lives in danger? For guys like you”
- Pickaxe – once used by miners to break rocks, now used to break Infected.
- Rahim’s Paraglider – if Rahim saw you flying with this, he’d say, “Not bad…For a noob!”
- Viral Rahim Outfit – “Try not to slow down once you start running. Out there, if you stop — you’re probably dead”
From there is the Nightrunner Bundle for £4.19. Slightly cheaper, this one focuses on the Nightrunner angle, with a full Outfit, Axe, Coat, Trousers, Trainers, Gloves, Guards and a Mask in place. Again, details…
- Nightrunner Outfit — wear it when the days are hot and bloody. Cutting Edge Axe — a limb here, a limb there…dismember your foes with ease and let the blood run like water.
- Nightrunner Coat — will help you keep your cool in a sweaty situation.
- Nightrunner Trousers — stay comfortable as you creep around.
- Nightrunner Trainers — silently tread past the dangers of the night.
- Nightrunner Gloves — insulating your hands without losing on maneuverability.
- Nightrunner Mask — better safe than sorry. You never know who could be watching from the shadows.
- Nightrunner Guards — keep the monsters from chomping on you. Your forearms, at least.
And finally we get to the Dying Light 2: Stay Human – Post-Apo Bundle for £5.79. Similar gear awaits you with this one, each of which will be perfect for those scavenging in the most challenging of times. Fancy any of the following, this is the pack for you…
- Scrapper Outfit — no one said that a rugged outfit can’t be smart, resourceful, flexible, and resistant. Be prepared for any extreme scenario.
- Rough Duster — at least the dust is on the outside.
- Bleak Pants — nothing special, but they get the job done.
- Well-Worn Boots — just as busted up as the skulls you smash every day.
- Tattered Leather Gauntlets — more dried-up blood than leather, aren’t they?
- Dystopian Mask — works both as protection and a deterrent.
- Spiked Bracers — offense is the best defense.
- Scrap Slicer — if the cut doesn’t kill them, the rust will.
- Patchy Paraglider — it may be a makeshift solution, but it gets the job done.
It goes without saying that in order to enjoy the new Dying Light 2 content, you’ll need the base game to hand. That’s available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC. Grab the new gear by hitting up the bold Xbox Store links above.
