Control Resonant new Keyart
Control Resonant – release date now confirmed

When Remedy first revealed CONTROL Resonant late last year, it immediately shot onto many players’ most anticipated lists for 2026. Now, following a new showcase appearance, we finally know exactly when we’ll be returning to Remedy’s ever-expanding paranatural universe.

Launching on September 24th, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC, CONTROL Resonant shifts the spotlight away from Jesse Faden and places players in the shoes of Dylan Faden as reality itself begins to unravel across a distorted Manhattan. Alongside the release date reveal, Remedy has also lifted the lid on the game’s various editions, pre-order bonuses and a brand-new story trailer.

At A Glance

  • CONTROL Resonant launches September 24th, 2026
  • Coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Steam and Epic Games Store
  • Dylan Faden takes centre stage as the playable protagonist
  • New story trailer explores a city consumed by supernatural forces
  • Digital, physical and SteelBook editions confirmed
  • PlayStation Digital Deluxe Edition includes 48-hour early access
  • Pre-orders available now

Dylan Faden Steps Into The Spotlight

While the original Control focused on Jesse Faden’s rise within the Federal Bureau of Control, the sequel puts her brother Dylan front and centre.

Dylan finds himself at the heart of a growing supernatural catastrophe as a new form of resonance joins familiar threats such as the Hiss and the Mold. With Jesse missing, Dylan is forced into a role he never expected to fill, becoming humanity’s best hope against a force capable of reshaping reality itself.

The latest trailer also confirms the return of familiar faces including Emily Pope and Simon Arish, while introducing new ally Zoe de Vera. For fans of the original game, it looks set to continue many of the story threads left hanging while expanding the wider Remedy Connected Universe even further.

That’s particularly exciting given how much anticipation has surrounded the project since its reveal. We previously highlighted CONTROL Resonant as one of the most intriguing upcoming Xbox releases of 2026, and this latest showing only adds to that excitement.

Remedy’s Biggest Paranatural Adventure Yet

Remedy isn’t being shy about its ambitions either.

The studio describes CONTROL Resonant as its most expansive game to date, promising larger environments, more complex storytelling and gameplay systems that build on the foundations laid by the award-winning original.

The action unfolds across a Manhattan twisted by supernatural phenomena, where shifting realities and cosmic forces continually reshape the world around Dylan. Themes of identity, sacrifice and power sit at the centre of the narrative as players explore what remains of a city caught in the grip of forces beyond human understanding.

September Is Looking Busy

With September already packed full of major releases, CONTROL Resonant is shaping up to be one of the month’s biggest arrivals. The original Control remains one of Remedy’s finest creations, blending supernatural storytelling with memorable action and world-building, and the sequel appears ready to push those ideas much further.

After first being revealed back in December 2025, the countdown is now officially on. Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC players will be stepping back into Remedy’s strange and fascinating universe on September 24th.
