Some games ask you to save the world. Others just want you to grow cotton, dye fabrics and make somebody a really nice jumper – Cottonville.
Available now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for ÂŁ9.59, the latest cosy sim from RedDeer.Games blends farming, crafting and dress-up mechanics into a relaxed little life sim centred around building your own sewing atelier in a peaceful countryside town.

From Big City Life To Small-Town Sewing
Cottonville begins with your character leaving behind the bustle of Friglight to take over a small family-run sewing shop in the much calmer surroundings of Cottonville itself.
From there, the goal is simple – build up your atelier, grow materials, craft outfits and slowly turn the business into something special.
The farming side of things focuses on growing resources like cotton, linen and bamboo, alongside flowers used to create natural fabric dyes. Those materials can then be turned into clothing through an expanding crafting and sewing system packed with different outfit combinations. It’s very, VERY cosy-core.
Fashion Takes Centre Stage
While plenty of farming sims obviously focus on crops and animals, Cottonville is far more interested in the creative side of things. Much like that of the best browser video editor that you can get hold of.
There are more than 60 sewing patterns to unlock, alongside over 120 clothing variations, giving players plenty of room to experiment with fabrics, colours and styles. Customers will also request outfits tailored to their personalities, adding a bit more structure beyond simply making clothes for yourself.
Character customisation is a big focus too, with loads of hairstyles, colours and facial options available right from the start. Basically, if your favourite part of any life sim is decorating your character rather than managing spreadsheets full of crops, Cottonville probably has you covered.
Another Cosy Sim For Xbox Players
The cosy game space has absolutely exploded over the last few years, and Cottonville feels like another title happily embracing that slower, more relaxed style of play.
After the amount of massive open-world games launching lately, there’s definitely room for something gentler.
You’ll find Cottonville on the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
