Creepy Shift Uncle Joes Motel – out now on Xbox and Play Anywhere

A motel job should be simple enough. Make the beds, clean the rooms, take out the rubbish and collect your pay. Unfortunately for those at the heart of Creepy Shift: Uncle Joe’s Motel, a fresh start turns into something much darker.

The latest entry in the horror series is now available for £8.39 on Xbox Series X|S and PC with Play Anywhere support, mixing mundane motel duties with psychological horror and a distinctly noir-inspired atmosphere.

Welcome To Uncle Joe’s Motel

Dive in and you’ll discover a protagonist arriving at a motel hoping to earn enough money to put her troubled past behind her. Instead, the increasingly unsettling building gives her plenty of reasons to start looking beyond the day-to-day work.

That work includes the familiar tasks you’d expect from a motel job – cleaning, vacuuming, taking out the rubbish and preparing rooms. But rather than simply getting through the shift, the she starts treating the motel like a detective would, searching for clues and trying to understand the strange secrets surrounding her.

The result? That would be a blend of simulation and horror, where the ordinary becomes increasingly uncomfortable.

A Horror Story With A Noir Edge

Uncle Joe’s Motel is the third game in the Creepy Shift series, which takes inspiration from creepypasta stories and uses mysterious rules as part of its gameplay.

This instalment takes things in a more psychological direction, with a narrative that becomes progressively darker. The old black-and-white noir cinema influence also gives the motel a distinctive look, separating it from the more straightforward horror settings of its predecessors.

Puzzles, survival elements and exploration all sit alongside the room-service simulation, giving you plenty to do while the story slowly reveals what is really happening.

A New Chapter For Creepy Shift

We’ve previously reviewed both of the other Creepy Shift games. Roadside Diner scored 3.5/5, while House For Sale earned 4/5, with both finding plenty to enjoy in the combination of mundane simulation work and supernatural horror.

Uncle Joe’s Motel takes that established formula and gives it a more dramatic, psychological spin. You’ll find it on the Xbox Store for £8.39, playable on Xbox and Play Anywhere. It also arrives alongside the Creepy Shift: Series Bundle, priced at £20.99, which includes Roadside Diner, House For Sale and Uncle Joe’s Motel.

For horror fans who enjoy their scares with a little cleaning, detective work and strange rules thrown into the mix, this latest night shift could be worth taking.
