If you like a bit of cricket, then spending time with Ashes Cricket is probably the best way of enjoying the experience in the gaming scene. But very soon there will be something to go toe-to-toe with Big Ant’s previous title – their new game, Cricket 19 – The Official Game of the Ashes. And it promises to deliver the deepest cricket simulator ever!

Cricket 19 – The Official Game of the Ashes will be releasing on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch in May 2019 (exact date to be confirmed), with that then followed up by a PC release a little later down the line. And if it is a cricket experience you are after, then Cricket 19 promises to deliver.

Including brand new features, gameplay modes and enhancements to the AI and gameplay engine, Cricket 19 – The Official Game of the Ashes from Big Ant Studios is being created in collaboration with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Building on the previous Ashes Cricket, Cricket 19 will be found featuring all formats of the international game, both the men’s and women’s teams, and all the host venues you could wish for. This includes the Specsavers Ashes, fully licensed for both England and Australia.

But there is more, and deep enhancements to the AI engine mean that the opposition will be more realistic than ever before. This means that when bowling, the AI will suss out your player and team’s weaknesses, targeting that with a concentrated bowling strategy. Similarly, when batting, the AI will rotate the strike to protect weaker players, actively looking for gaps in the field.

Further to that a new scenario mode will be included, letting players in on the chance to recreate some of the greatest cricket matches in history, sharing them online and challenging others to achieve difficult run-chases, or play out a draw from a disastrous situation. There will also be enhancements to the career mode, allowing you to build a story around your player.

Cricket 19 will be available on Xbox One and PS4, and for the first time ever, Nintendo Switch players will have access to a deep, rich cricket simulation which will be playable on the go, with both single player and multiplayer options working anywhere, at anytime.

“We have the most active and passionate community. Many of our players logged thousands of hours with our previous cricket titles, and Cricket 19 is very much built on the experience of those players,” Big Ant CEO, Ross Symons, said. “Whether you’re looking to enjoy a 20-year cricket career that takes you from the club level to captaining the national team, re-create an ODI or IT20 series or take part in the Ashes, or just bash some balls around with friends, Cricket 19 has you covered.”

“We are thrilled to announce Cricket 19 with Big Ant Studios,” ECB Commercial Director, Rob Calder said. “We have a huge summer of cricket to look forward to in England and Wales this year and this is another great way for fans to enjoy all the action.”

“The Ashes is the greatest contest in cricket, and Cricket 19 is going to be the most detailed simulation of the event that we’ve ever seen,” Steve Powell, Managing Director, Maximum Games UK, said. “We’re thrilled to be joining Big Ant Studios in bringing the game to English fans.”
