Do you need to play Flatland Vol.1 prior to the sequel? Well, seeing as QUByte Interactive (they behind Chess Knights: Shinobi) are bringing Flatland Vol.2 to Xbox without a sign of the original game in tow, we’d hazard a guess at no being the answer to our simple question. In fact, we’re just going to jump in feet first and see what Flatland Vol.2 has to hold.
You may be in a different camp to us and have previously played both Flatland Vol.1 and Flatland Vol.2 on the likes of PC or one of those other console platforms away from Xbox. But whether you have or not matters little now for it is this sequel which has dropped onto Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4/5 and Nintendo Switch, tasking players with crossing the flooded plans of the Flatlands as best they can.Â
Priced at ÂŁ3.29 and available to purchase and download right now, Flatland Vol.2 is a fast-paced, pretty damn hardcore, platformer. If that’s not yet put you off and you’re still interested in hearing more, then how about we throw some hand-scraft levels and lightning fast respawns your way too. After all, what’s a hardcore platformer without lightning fast respawn opportunities!?
Your goal here is to travel the Flatlands, helping your little square character traverse the stages and levels that are thrown your way. It all promises to be a bit of a challenge, but with simple to handle controls that deliver a decent depth should you be looking to really master them, and a ton of collectibles items and game modes to unlock, there should be more than a good amount of gameplay found here.
Key features include:
- Controls are simple and accessible but with several layers of depth to master;
- A lot of itens to collect and new game modes to unlock;
- Lightning-fast respawns keep you in the flow even in more difficult levels;
- Challenging, fast and fun gameplay.
If you wish to check out the Flatlands and reckon the release of Flatland Vol.2 is for you, get over to the Xbox Store and grab a download for Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. You’ll also find the game on PS4, PS5 and Switch. And if you want to play Vol.1 first, well, you’ll be best of checking it out on different formats like PC via Steam, first.Â
Keep an eye out for our review of Flatland Vol.2 on Xbox in the days ahead.Â
