Cryptical Path – now on PC and console

What if the dungeon didn’t generate itself… but instead waited for you to build it? Find out in Cryptical Path.

Cryptical Path flips the traditional roguelite formula on its head, putting players in the role of the Architect; the very creator of the labyrinth they must now escape.

Available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (Optimised), PC with Play Anywhere support, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch for ÂŁ11.99, this intriguing action roguelite brings a fresh twist to a familiar genre.

Developed by Old Skull Games and published by Alchemy Games, Cryptical Path blends fast-paced combat with strategic dungeon design, allowing players to construct the path forward one room at a time.

You Don’t Just Explore The Dungeon – You Build It

Cryptical Path introduces what its creators call a Roguelite Builder system. Instead of simply venturing through procedurally generated corridors, you, the player, actively choose which rooms to place next, shaping the dungeon layout in the process.

Each run becomes a strategic exercise in construction and survival. Place the wrong room at the wrong time and you may find yourself overwhelmed. Choose wisely and you can craft a path that suits your playstyle and strengths.

The core loop then is elegantly simple: Build the next room → Survive the encounter → Collect rewards → Shape the next challenge.

With thousands of possible room combinations, every journey through the labyrinth can evolve in a different direction.

Fast Combat In A Living Labyrinth

Once the room is placed, it’s time to survive it. Cryptical Path delivers combat through a slick 2.5D side-scrolling perspective, where players dodge, dash and slash their way through enemies that inhabit the Hexium.

The Architect moves with agility through arenas filled with danger. Enemies grow tougher as runs progress, while bosses wait deeper within the shifting labyrinth.

Success comes from mastering movement and combining upgrades effectively. Items, perks and talents unlock over time, letting players develop unique builds across multiple runs.

Progression Beyond Each Run

As with many roguelites, failure is only part of the journey. Every attempt unlocks new items, talents and potential combinations that expand future possibilities.

Ands whilst roguelites often revolve around randomness, Cryptical Path instead places control firmly in the player’s hands. By allowing players to choose their rooms and build the dungeon layout themselves, each run becomes a deliberate experiment rather than a roll of the dice.

Available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Play Anywhere (via the Xbox Store), PlayStation and Nintendo Switch for ÂŁ11.99, it offers a dungeon crawler where every path forward is one you designed yourself.

And if the dungeon becomes too dangerous? Well… you were the one who built it.
