Dakar Desert Rally release date confirmed as pre-orders and bonuses open

At the backend of 2021, the announcement came that Dakar Desert Rally would be rolling out in 2022. Finally, some months later, a full release date is known – as pre-order options and bonuses come to the fore. 

Sold as – and we quote – the ‘biggest open world racing game ever’, Dakar Desert Rally from Saber Interactive will be launching on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC come October 4th 2022. 

Playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC through Steam and Epic, Dakar Desert Rally is an open-world racer that is – yep, you guessed it – based on the world famous Dakar Rally. 

After previously covering the greatest race of them all in the likes of Dakar 18, we’ll find all the official 2020, 2021 and 2022 Dakar raids taking place, with the most intense off-road action and more realistic of game physics and visuals to boot. 

You can throw in dynamic seasons and weather too in Dakar Desert Rally, as Saber Porto looks to capture the speed and excitement of the real-world race. As you’d suspect, getting the opportunity to race in a range of vehicles will be front and centre, as bikes, cars, trucks, quads and SSVs all compete. 

Dakar Desert Rally will work the challenge angle to keep things interesting, whilst four-player multiplayer races should up the ante some more. 

In all, the key features will include:

• The Authentic Dakar Rally Experience: Discover more than 30 stages of full rally racing from the official 2020, 2021, and 2022 Dakar Rally with officially licensed vehicles, teams and pilots.
• Immense Open World Action: Compete at high speeds across vast and extreme open world environments in both multiplayer and single-player modes.
• Dynamic Seasons & Weather: Dakar Desert Rally features all four seasons and a full day-night cycle. Whether facing billowing sandstorms, blazing desert sunlight, grueling rain and snow, or deep mud, you’ll need to overcome the elements and your competition to win.
• Single-Player And Online Multiplayer: Evolve your Rally Raid career in single-player or compete in online multiplayer events with up to three of your friends.

You can pre-order Dakar Desert Rally from today, with it being available on the usual digital and retail stores. The Xbox Store is our port of call and it’s there where you’ll find a £33.49 Standard Edition pre-order, or a £49.99 Deluxe Edition. The latter includes the Season Pass. 

You should be finding similar options on PlayStation and PC.
