Dave The Diver in The Jungle – out now!

For years, Dave has made a living beneath the waves of the Blue Hole, discovering strange creatures by day and helping keep hungry customers fed by night. But now, DAVE THE DIVER is taking a significant step away from familiar waters as the brand-new In the Jungle Content Pack launches on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Available now for ÂŁ8.39, this sizeable expansion sends Dave and his friends into a completely new environment, swapping saltwater adventures for a mysterious freshwater ecosystem packed with secrets, new characters and more than ten hours of additional content.

Leaving The Blue Hole Behind

One of the reasons DAVE THE DIVER has become such a beloved indie success is its ability to constantly surprise players. Just when you think you’ve mastered one system, another appears to pull you in a different direction.

The In the Jungle expansion continues that tradition by relocating the action to the mysterious village of Utara, where reports of a strange phenomenon have caught the attention of Dave and his crew.

What follows is an adventure that takes players deep into the heart of the jungle, where a vast freshwater lake hides an entirely new ecosystem beneath its surface. New creatures, ingredients and dangers await discovery, alongside the remnants of an ancient civilisation that appears to have been forgotten by time.

New Faces, New Flavours

The expansion isn’t just about exploration.

As Dave builds relationships with the people of Utara Village, he’ll gradually earn their trust and uncover more of the region’s mysteries. Some locals may be reluctant to welcome outsiders at first, but as fans of the base game already know, good food has a way of bringing people together.

That leads to one of the expansion’s biggest additions: Bancho Grill.

Chef Bancho has traded seafood specialities for a menu built around the unique ingredients found in the jungle. New dishes, new customers and new opportunities to expand the culinary side of the adventure help give the expansion a distinct identity while still feeling unmistakably like DAVE THE DIVER.

More Than Just A New Map

While a new location is the headline attraction, Mintrocket has packed plenty more into In the Jungle than a simple change of scenery.

Ancient temples, mysterious ruins and unexplored forests ensure there is always something waiting around the next corner. The expansion introduces fresh mechanics, new mission structures and enough story content to keep returning players busy for many hours.

According to Mintrocket, the jungle setting gave the team far more creative freedom than previous updates, resulting in an adventure that branches away from the ocean-focused gameplay many players have become accustomed to.

“This expansion has been a long time in the making, and our team is excited to welcome our players back into the world, this time with a freshwater twist,” said Jaeho Hwang, Head of Studio and Game Director, Mintrocket. “The jungle gave us so much creative room to play with, and we can’t wait for players to discover everything we’ve hidden in there.”

For those who have already completed the main game, the DLC can be accessed immediately. New players can also jump directly into the expansion without needing to finish the original campaign first.

Another Excuse To Dive Back In

When we reviewed DAVE THE DIVER, we awarded it a 4.5/5 score, concluding: “The beautiful graphics, chill soundtrack, and enjoyable gameplay loop more than make up for any criticisms I could throw at DAVE THE DIVER. This is a great experience for anyone looking for something new and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

The In the Jungle expansion looks set to build on those strengths, offering another quirky and charming chapter in Dave’s increasingly bizarre career. Stay tuned for our review of the expansion soon.
