Bet you thought it was going to be a quiet week in the land of Game Pass eh? Think again because we’re welcoming in a few new additions to the subscription service – all as Day One launches.
In fact, this week is a better week for Game Pass than we could have ever imagined, with the arrival of not one, but two games into the Xbox side of things; one of those being a stealthy under-the-radar hit. That is then complemented by a PC-only offering; at least until that too drops onto Xbox Series X|S.
Those games? Well, Train Sim World 5 is stopping off at the nearest Game Pass station, whilst Wargroove 2 releases Day One onto the service. If you’re on PC, you’ll also need to find time for the life-sink that is Frostpunk 2.
Train Sim World 5
Train Sim World 5 has been available in Special and Gold edition forms for a few days already, but now it hits Game Pass as the Standard edition releases to the world.
Train Sim World 5 offers a thrilling rail experience with three new routes: the bustling West Coast Main Line, the scenic Kinzigtalbahn, and the sunny San Bernardino Line. Take control of iconic trains like the Class 350, DB BR 411 ICE-T, and MP36 & F125. New features like Conductor Mode, Route Hopping, and Live Map enhance immersion.
With stunning visuals, realistic controls, and endless customisation options, Train Sim World 5 promises to be a bit of a must-play for rail enthusiasts. Stay tuned for our review.
Wargroove 2
Wargroove 2 has been on Steam and Switch for a year or so already, but now it comes to Xbox, Day One on Game Pass.
The original Wargroove launched onto our systems a good five years back; a game that we saw as a perfect homage to the likes of Advance Wars and Fire Emblem. In fact, we spent hours with it, and so would expect to do the same now that the sequel lands come September 19th.Â
We’ll sort a review, but should you have enjoyed what came along first time around, a Day One subscription drop makes this feel like a download will be a no-brainer.
Frostpunk 2
Frostpunk 2 is a city-building survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by eternal frost – you know, much like what occurred in the original Frostpunk.
As the leader of a resource-hungry metropolis, you must navigate internal conflicts, expand your city, and research new technologies to ensure your people’s survival. This one comes with a focus on social dynamics and political intrigue, ensuring that Frostpunk 2 offers a challenging and thought-provoking experience.
PC only for now, with a launch on Xbox Series X|S promised, head over to the Xbox Store to grab a download from September 19th.
With September in full swing, yet again those Game Pass subscriptions that power us along are coming into their own. But let us know which games you’re playing, and which you’re looking forward to. As for what is still to come? Next week welcomes in Ara: History Untold to PC Game Pass.Â
