Delays aren’t new in the gaming world, but still, every single time we hear of one, a little tear hits the eye. That is the case today as Team NINJA push back the release date of DEAD OR ALIVE 6 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Originally due to release in mid-February, the launch of DEAD OR ALIVE 6 has now been moved back a few weeks to 1st March 2019, allowing the teams at Team NINJA and KOEI TECMO America to further polish the upcoming fighter.

Whilst there is obviously part of us that find this disappointing, the overall feel is that any delay, in order to create the best gaming experience possible, is a welcome one, and the couple of weeks extra isn’t a massive heart breaker – particularly if it means the final product will be of a higher quality.

“The title’s development is already near complete; however, we would like to take more time to further polish its balance, gameplay, and expressivity. In return for your patience, we commit to bringing you the best DEAD OR ALIVE gaming experience,” said Yohei Shimbori, the game’s Producer and Director. “I am truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by the release delay of DEAD OR ALIVE 6.”

Despite the delay, you can still get your pre-orders in for DEAD OR ALIVE 6 right now. The Xbox Store will happily provide you with the goods once that 1st March date rolls around and if you find yourself highly anticipating the next chapter in the DEAD OR ALIVE franchise, then it may be worth paying a little visit.

So, how does this delay in the release of DEAD OR ALIVE 6 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC affect you? Have you got used to the constant movement of release dates? Do you need to reschedule your day off work in order to play the upcoming fighter? Let us know in the comments below.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
