Declines Drops Keyart
Declines Drops – out now on Xbox

There’s a charm to games that look like they’ve been sketched directly onto the screen. Games like Decline’s Drops, as it launches on Xbox. The thing is, beneath the gorgeous artwork sits a much tougher experience – one filled with demanding combat, mysterious corruption and a puppet out for revenge.

Available now on Xbox Series X|S for £12.49, Decline’s Drops comes from developer Moulin aux Bulles Studio and publisher 2BAD GAMES, delivering a hand-crafted action-platformer that mixes exploration, precision fighting and some beautifully bleak world design.

And if you’ve already been keeping an eye on this one, we reviewed it, awarding it a solid 3.5/5 score.

A Puppet’s Revenge Against The Decline

In Decline’s Drops, players take control of Globule, a wooden puppet whose once-beautiful world is slowly being consumed by a mysterious force known only as the Decline.

What follows is a side-scrolling action adventure through haunting environments packed with dangerous enemies, hidden secrets and increasingly difficult battles. Combat appears to be a major focus too, with careful timing and precision proving far more important than simple button mashing.

Every duel is designed to feel deliberate, forcing players to learn enemy patterns and commit to each strike carefully.

It’s not just style over substance either. Beneath the hand-drawn visuals sits a weighty action-platformer that seems heavily inspired by classic brawler adventures.

A Beautifully Gloomy Adventure

Visually, Decline’s Drops is probably going to be the thing that grabs most players first.

Everything has been fully hand-drawn, giving the game a striking storybook-like appearance that contrasts nicely against the darker tone of the adventure itself. One moment you’re wandering through strangely peaceful landscapes, the next you’re locked in tense fights against twisted enemies born from the corruption spreading across the world.

When we reviewed the game, we said: “Decline’s Drops is a fun game that has plenty of good things going on, more than compensating for any of the bad.” We also noted that anyone who grew up playing old-school brawler platformers would likely find a lot to enjoy here.

If that sounds like your kind of challenge, Decline’s Drops is available now on Xbox Series X|S, downloadable through the Xbox Store.
