If it’s a Breakout-esque, intergalactic adventure you are after, then look no further than Emme Saves the Galaxy on Xbox, from developer Megalithic Mainframe.
Set across a whopping 1000 levels, this retro-inspired arcade title will have you biting your nails as you attempt to clear each stage.
Canine Chaos
Now available on Xbox consoles, following on from a PC launch in 2023 before a move to PlayStation in 2024 ensued, Emme Saves the Galaxy stars the lovable pooch Emme as she blasts foes away in her spaceship.
Think of this puzzle title as a cross between iconic retro games Breakout and Space Invaders, as your goal is to shoot ricocheting balls across the level in order to destroy invading blocks. The blocks slowly move towards the bottom of your screen and, if they reach their goal, you’ll be hit with a big, fat game over!
Different blocks must be contacted a varying number of times to be destroyed, and the presence of uniquely shaped blocks will ensure that you must always figure out which angles to utilise. Throw in the existence of exploding blocks that destroy all that surround them, and you quickly have many different routes to go down in order to complete a level.

You can pick up the game via the Xbox Store for £8.39, and if you aren’t playing on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One, the game is also available on PS5, PS4 and PC platforms.
