Defend the endangered species of your world in We Are The Caretakers

We Are The Caretakers Xbox

It is one thing to convey a moral through your chosen medium, but it is another to actually practice what you preach. We Are The Caretakers is out today on Xbox Series X|S and shows a world where people fight to save the endangered animals that they need to survive. But, not only that, 10% of the net revenue goes towards saving rhinos on our own planet.

But, back to the game itself, rather than the altruistic reason for buying it outright. We Are The Caretakers is a tactical RPG in the same vein as XCOM, Marvel Midnight Suns and more. You are tasked with defending the endangered animals that populate your world. Not only are they simply worth saving and looking after, but there is a reliance on them too in this world. You will need to manage your reputation, funds, research and alliances in order to protect the world you and those you rely on.

Not only that, but We Are The Caretakers has a unique looking style. Vivid, bright afrofuturistic – think Black Panther – this art style offers hope as you are playing. And I think we could all use a bit of that when dealing with these sorts of issues.

We Are The Caretakers is out now for Xbox Series X|S priced at £14.99. If you want to get stuck in quickly, there is a small discount dropping the price down to £13.49 for a short period. And our review will be coming soon to help you decide, so stay tuned for that. For now, let us know in the comments if you like the sound of this one.

Game description

We Are The Caretakers is an afrofuturist squad management RPG. Assemble an arcane team of protectors in squad-building systems inspired by Darkest Dungeon, Ogre Battle, and XCOM. Defend the endangered animals your world relies on in strategic turn-based combat. Define your approach to a global resistance by balancing your reputation, funds, research, animals and alliances. We Are The Caretakers is a challenging strategy RPG fusion that asks you to protect a planet by fighting for the people, animals and ecosystems that inhabit it.
