Sharpen your Nichirin Blades and prepare for another demon-slaying adventure – Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is coming!

SEGA has announced Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2; a new arena fighter based on the popular anime series.

Set to release in 2025 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Nintendo Switch, this new installment promises to expand upon the original game’s foundation with new characters, storylines, and enhanced gameplay.

A New Chapter in the Demon Slayer Corps Saga

The Hinokami Chronicles 2 picks up where its predecessor left off, allowing players to once again step into the role of Tanjiro Kamado and relive iconic moments from the anime.

This time, the game will cover the “Entertainment District Arc,” “Swordsmith Village Arc,” and “Hashira Training Arc,” bringing new challenges and battles to the forefront.

Expanding the Roster

The VS Mode roster is getting a significant boost, with over 40 playable characters to choose from. This includes the return of all characters from the original Hinokami Chronicles, including the demons added in post-launch updates and the Entertainment District Arc characters.

Joining the fray are new additions like Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji, two powerful Hashira who played key roles in the Swordsmith Village Arc.

And for the first time, all nine Hashira will be playable, allowing fans to unleash the full might of the Demon Slayer Corps.

A Sequel with Potential

While we had mixed feelings about Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board!, noting its repetitive boss battles and lack of consistent quality in its mini-games, we were much more taken by Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles. We’re hopeful that The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will build on that, delivering a more refined and engaging experience.

The expanded roster, new storylines, and the promise of enhanced gameplay mechanics could potentially elevate this sequel beyond its predecessor.

Features to Look Forward To

  • Expanded Story Mode: Relive key moments from the “Entertainment District Arc,” “Swordsmith Village Arc,” and “Hashira Training Arc.”
  • Massive Roster: Choose from over 40 playable characters, including all nine Hashira.
  • Enhanced Combat: Experience refined combat mechanics and new abilities for a more dynamic and engaging fighting experience.
  • New Stages: Battle across a variety of new stages inspired by iconic locations from the anime.
  • Online and Offline Modes: Challenge friends and rivals in local or online multiplayer battles, or hone your skills in single-player modes.

A Demon Slayer Adventure Awaits

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is shaping up to be an exciting new chapter for fans of the anime and fighting game enthusiasts alike.

Get ready for it to release in 2025 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Nintendo Switch.

Stay tuned for more updates and prepare to unleash your inner demon slayer!
