Descenders hits Steam as Xbox Game Preview release is confirmed

-

Best of 2025

It’s the procedurally generated extreme downhill freeriding title that has been created by the team at RageSquid, but as the game arrives on Steam, confirmation has come about that it’ll soon also be available on Xbox Game Preview. But what game are we talking about? Descenders of course!

Descenders has today arrived on Steam for PC, Mac and Linux, bringing its procedurally generated worlds and freestyle bike controls to the masses. But whilst that is in itself big news, the bigger focus for us is the fact the game will soon be making the most of the Xbox Game Preview programme.

With a deep risk and reward system, whereby every mistake will have massive consequences, Descenders throws players into the high-octane world of downhill biking, with every jump, whip and scrub earning Rep points for you and your team. But should you push things too far, you’ll run the risk that you might lose it all with just one badly timed landing.

Available right now on Steam for $24.99 / £19.49 / 22.99 euros. Descenders will soon also launch exclusively on Xbox Game Preview.

Features include:

  • A deep physics system and full controller support allow players to string together incredible trick combos, as you make your way down the mountain and attempt to reach the bottom with as few scratches as possible.
  • Procedurally generated worlds mean that no two runs are ever the same, while nerve-racking Boss Jumps truly sort the casuals from the pros. There are no upgrade modifiers and power-ups in Descenders — instead, players must progress through skill alone, if they want to lead their team to glory, and become the next legendary Descender.
  • Post-launch, players can expect regular updates to the game, with new tweaks, bikes, kits, challenges, modes, features and worlds to follow post-launch.

Make sure you check out that trailer below and we’ll be sure to let you know once it arrives on Xbox.
