First created by Sick Chicken Studios, we now find a new point-and-click adventure arrive on Xbox One, PS4, PS Vita and Nintendo Switch, as the porting kings of Ratalaika Games drop Guard Duty to the world.

Available to purchase and download right this minute on Xbox One, PS4 and PS Vita, Guard Duty is the latest in a long, long, long line of cheap Ratalaika ports to hit console in recent months. Due to also arrive on Nintendo Switch come the 24th April, Guard Duty sees us following two paths; the life of one Tondbert, a loyal castle guard who has got himself into a little bit of trouble, and Agent Starborn who has come to save the world.

You see, whilst Tondbert was stationed on guard, a dastardly evil being found their way behind castle walls and kidnapped the princess, triggering catastrophic events that would last a thousand years. This is where Agent Starborn comes in though and by working through the intertwining lives and stories, you’ll go about hunting down the evil and saving humanity.

Working as a point-and-click adventure, Guard Duty comes with many features, and whilst the opportunity to work with a game that spans a couple of time periods is exciting, it’s the fact that more than 6000 lines of fully voice dialogue will be present that really hits home. Throw in bespoke audio, hand crafted pixel art and the chance to work through many objectives and for the price asked, we reckon Guard Duty could well be a tempter.

Our full review of Guard Duty on Xbox One will be thrust towards your eyes in the days ahead. Keep an eye out for it. If you are already tempted in though and reckon that £9.99 price tag (discounted to £7.99 for a limited time) is one that you can handle, head on over to your favoured digital store. We just have to point you towards the Xbox Store.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
