We’ve long been fans of what Wales Interactive have been able to bring the gaming scene, with the FMV kings having pushed out a huge number of titles over the years. The next on their hitlist is that of ‘Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus?’ – and this is definitely an eccentric little interactive murder mystery you’ll want to take in.

Coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch and both PS4 and PS5, ‘Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus?’ comes from the Wales Interactive and Good Gate Media teams, as players get set to kickback and take in the full motion video plays.

Starring Andy Buckley (The Office, Jurassic World) as Uncle Marcus, Abigail Hardingham (Nina Forever, The Missing), Susannah Doyle (Black Mirror, Drop The Dead Donkey, About A Boy), Robbie Kay (Once Upon a Time, Pinocchio), Georgia Small (Five Dates) and Al Weaver (The Complex), ‘Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus?’ will be released come March 18th 2022, with the interactive whodunit becoming available to pre-order on 4th March and can now be added to your Wishlist on Steam.

‘Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus?’ is sold as an eccentric FMV murder mystery with a twist: someone has poisoned Uncle Marcus and it’s up to you to uncover the truth in the yearly family quiz, saving him before it is too late.

You see, each and every year, Abby’s mum has a family quiz on her birthday. It’s a long-held tradition, one that brings the whole rich and eccentric family together – and one that Abby dreads. But this year’s quiz comes with a shocking difference as just as it’s about to begin, her beloved Uncle Marcus tells her that he’s dying – and that someone in the family has poisoned him. Abby is the only one he can trust and so you must find out who the murderer is before it is too late.

Like many of the FMV titles that have released over the last couple of years, ‘Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus?’ was shot in lockdown and filmed simultaneously in London and Los Angeles. It comes from the same studios behind The Complex, Five Dates, Night Book and Bloodshore.

Dr David Banner MBE, Executive Producer/Co-Founder, Wales Interactive said: “We’re proud to kickstart our 2022 slate of interactive movies with WPMOUM, a quirky murder mystery, co-produced by Good Gate Media, and developed with our in-house narrative tool WIST (Wales Interactive Scripting Tool). As fans of The Office (U.S.) we couldn’t be happier to have the hilarious Andy Buckley on-board as well as some familiar FMV fan favourites from the likes of Five Dates and The Complex.”

Get yourself eyes on with the trailer for ‘Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus?’ right now. Then hold tight until that March 18th 2022 release. We’ll be sure to remind you when it appears on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch and both PS4 and PS5.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
