Spiritfall – now on Xbox

Get ready for a divine combination of tight platform fighter combat and addictive roguelike mechanics as Spiritfall hits Xbox.

Spiritfall, the fast-paced action roguelite from developer and publisher Gentle Giant Games, is available right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Following its successful launch on PC and a wider console rollout, this celebrated indie hit can now be yours on Xbox for £16.99.

Spiritfall challenges you to trek across dangerous, randomly generated lands, stringing together deadly combos to fend off swarms of enemies while harnessing an ever-changing arsenal of divine powers.

Platform Fighter Combat with a Roguelike Twist

At its core, Spiritfall delivers a unique gameplay experience by blending genres. Expect the tight, responsive combat reminiscent of platform fighters – think directional knockback attacks, satisfying wall-splats, and fluid combo chains.

You’ll be slashing, smashing, and launching a multitude of enemies across five dangerous regions, all presented on a procedurally generated map that ensures every run feels fresh.

This isn’t just about twitch skills, though. As a roguelike, strategy and adaptation are key. The divine spirits you encounter offer powerful blessings – over 160+ of them! – that enhance your abilities in combat. Discover your favourite abilities, experiment with different builds, and seek out powerful synergies between these gifts to create your perfect tactical approach.

Grow Stronger From Each Defeat

In true roguelite fashion, death in Spiritfall is merely a temporary setback. When you fall, you’ll reawaken stronger than before at the central hub, the Sanctum. Here, you can use the resources gathered during your perilous treks to:

  • Upgrade your core skills.
  • Unlock unique powers and game-changing charms.
  • Awaken and enchant 10 mighty weapons, each with unique movesets, to further diversify your combat style.

You’ll also encounter a cast of enigmatic characters during your adventures. The Relic Tinkerer can provide strategic relics, Yara and her turtle companion Damu offer essential resources, and The Daring Duo stand ready to challenge and train you for the trials ahead.

Further customise your playstyle by equipping Divine Spirit Masks, each granting distinct abilities, and unlock a variety of cosmetic skins by achieving gameplay milestones.

Key Features

  • Platform Fighter Roguelike: A unique blend of tight, Smash-style combat and roguelike progression.
  • Divine Synergies: Collect over 160+ blessings to create powerful and varied character builds.
  • Grow Stronger in Death: Use gathered resources at the Sanctum to permanently upgrade skills, unlock powers, and awaken 10 unique weapons.
  • Dynamic Exploration: Traverse five dangerous regions on a procedurally generated map.
  • Engaging Encounters: Meet curious NPCs and customize your look with unlockable skins and Divine Spirit Masks.

Ready to Ascend?

Spiritfall has already garnered “Very Positive” reviews on Steam for its fluid combat, deep build variety, and addictive roguelite loop. Now, Xbox players can finally experience this full-featured, critically acclaimed indie gem.

If you’re looking for a fast-paced, challenging, and highly replayable action title, Spiritfall is available now on the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, priced at £16.99.

Prepare to slash, smash, and launch your way to victory.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
