Crystal Veins
Crystal Veins – out now on Xbox and PC

A 2D platformer that blends lighthearted cartoon visuals with intense subterranean challenge? Yep, Crystal Veins has just tunnelled its way onto Xbox and PC.

Crystal Veins, a new adventure where every swing and every step matters is the latest from PedroFStudio. But most importantly, it is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC for the super-accessible price of just ÂŁ4.19.

Prepare to take control of a rookie miner, trapped deep underground after a mysterious cave-in, who must dig, dodge, and dash his way through a forgotten mine full of secrets and dangers.

A Miner’s Peril

The story of Crystal Veins begins as Toby, a rookie miner, wakes up trapped deep underground. With only his pickaxe, his helmet, and a flickering lantern, he must find a way to escape the forgotten mine before the darkness closes in for good.

This is a game that will test your platforming skills. You will need to master smooth movement to dig, dodge, and dash your way through the puzzle-like levels. The mine is full of deadly threats, including lava pits, swarms of bats, and lurking cave beasts, that you’ll need to evade to survive.

To escape, you must open a series of ancient gates that block your path. Each gate requires a precise number of rare crystals to open. You’ll need to explore every corner of the level, mining the glowing crystal veins hidden throughout to gather the required amount and race to the exit.

Another Pixel-Perfect Challenge from PedroFStudio

Developer PedroFStudio has already proven their talent for creating tough, retro-style challenges. This new subterranean adventure joins a library that recently included the equally perilous adventures of the Red Cape Knight, who had to reclaim a castle, and the unarmed courier in Run, Elric!.

It’s important to note that Crystal Veins on Xbox does not support Xbox Play Anywhere.

However, there are three versions to enjoy. Take your pick from an Xbox Series X|S Optimised Edition, another that works and plays nicely with Xbox One, or that of a Windows PC drop. Those Xbox Store links will help you out.

Your Miner’s Toolkit

Here’s what you can expect from this new 2D platformer:

  • Charming and Challenging Adventure: A 2D platformer that blends lighthearted cartoon visuals with intense challenge.
  • The Hunt for Crystals: Mine glowing crystal veins to collect the required amount to open the exit.
  • Dig, Dodge, and Dash: Evade a host of deadly threats, from lava pits to lurking cave beasts.
  • Puzzle-Like Level Design: A fast-paced experience where every swing and every step matters.

The darkness is closing in and the only way out is through. If you’re a fan of classic, challenging 2D platformers, Crystal Veins is ready for you on the Xbox Store right now. Will you dig deep enough to escape… or be lost in the shadows forever?
