Knight of the Deep
Knight of the Deep – out now on Xbox

In an era of checkpoints and hand-holding, a new retro-style challenge has arrived on Xbox to test your pure platforming skill – Knight of the Keep.

Knight of the Keep is a 2D action platformer from PedroFStudio, and it has launched today on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. This brutal, no-shortcuts challenge is available right now for just ÂŁ4.19.

The Last Bastion of Light

Prepare to take on the role of Sir Peter, the last knight defending Castle Keep, where only your skill, timing, and courage can see you through to victory.

In Knight of the Keep, a collapsing world has been overrun by waves of corrupted foes. You play as Sir Peter, the last knight of Castle Keep, who must make a final, desperate stand to protect the last gate to the light. To do this, he must clear every single room of the castle to unlock the gates and move forward.

A Brutal, No-Shortcuts Challenge

This is a game that prides itself on its difficulty and its classic, tight gameplay. You will need to dodge a variety of deadly traps and fight a host of corrupted monsters using nothing but your wits and your sword.

The game is presented with crisp pixel art and tight, responsive controls, ensuring that every victory is earned through pure skill. At least, we hope. We’ll find out for sure once we go fully hands-on for review.

Key Features

  • Retro-Style 2D Action Platformer: A classic and challenging experience for fans of the genre.
  • Play as the Last Knight: Take on the role of Sir Peter and defend Castle Keep from corrupted foes.
  • A Brutal, No-Shortcuts Challenge: A game that will test your skill, timing, and courage.
  • Dodge, Fight, Survive: Navigate deadly traps and fight a variety of monsters.
  • Crisp Pixel Art & Tight Controls: A pure and responsive retro experience.

The keep is under siege and you are its last line of defense.

Fancy yourself as a bit of a fan of tough-as-nails, old-school action platformers? Knight of the Keep is ready to test your mettle on the Xbox Store right now, whether that be through the Xbox Series X|S Optimised Edition, or the one that plays on Xbox One.

Can one knight protect the last gate to the light?

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
