Bandai Namco decided Gamescom is the ideal place to unveil a load of news about their 2.5D fighting game, Dragon Ball FighterZ. Surely the announcement of the CollectorZ Edition alone has gotten your attention, so let’s get stuck into it all!
The Dragon Ball FighterZ Collectorz Edition will be available in Europe in early 2018 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and it’s a must have for any Dragon Ball fan. The real draw of the CollectorZ Editions is the wonderful looking Goku diorama, standing at 18cm tall and with an exclusive “Manga Dimension” colouring. There are also three art boards included – one of which features Android 17 & Android 18 – as well as a unique SteelBook with lovely artwork. Whether you go for the CollectorZ Edition or the standard version, both of these offer a pre-order bonus of early access to the Open Beta in January, two exclusive lobby avatars and the early unlock of SSGSS Goku and SSGSS Vegeta as playable characters.
Speaking of betas, there’s a closed one scheduled for 16th and 17th September for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. In the closed beta, Dragon Ball FighterZ will be playable online with a roster of 11 fighters – SS Goku, SS Vegeta, SS Teen Gohan, Cell, Majin Buu, Frieza (Final form), Future Trunks, Piccolo, Krillin, Android 18 and Android 16. Xbox One gamers wanting to participate in the closed beta need to be a part of the Xbox Insider program, from which players will be selected.

The gameplay shows Krillin, Piccolo and Android’s 16, 17 and 18 battling it out in some intense action. As far as the story is concerned, it’s all rather mysterious with an invasion of army corps and the resurrection of Android 16. The super warriors are falling… what’s going on?
Dragon Ball FighterZ is expected to launch in February 2018 on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
