Thought you knew everything there was to know about Goku, the Z Fighters and Dragon Ball? Think again because with the launch of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, all the usual stories are being retold. Again!
Available to purchase and download on Xbox One, PS4 and PC right now, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is the latest in the long, long, line of Dragon Ball titles, and this time round we once more get to play through some of the most hardcore DB tales of all time.
Priced at £49.99 for the Standard Edition, DBZ: Kakarot will see you getting to grips with the usual gang as you go about fighting, fishing, eating, driving, and training, working your way through the Dragon Ball Z world.
Playing things out as Goku – Kakarot – we find this Saiyan sent to Earth as a baby to submit the whole planet; with his memory altered in order to see him grow old as a kind man, and one of the greatest earth’s defender. DBZ: Kakarot tells the story of Goku from his brother Raditz’s arrival on earth, all the way up to the final battle against Buu in a way never seen before.
Expect to be told narratives of hardship, rivalries and friendship as you get the opportunity to play as your favourite characters and become the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball Z saga.
And whilst the base game will contain the same elements across the board, Bandai Namco have ensured that there are a number of options open to the biggest DBZ fans, with both a Deluxe and Ultimate Edition available from the Xbox Store – or indeed the PS4 and PC equivalents. The Deluxe Edition will set you back £64.99 and includes the base game, a Cooking Item that gives your character permanent Ki-ATK and HP Stat boosts, and everyone’s favourite add-on – the Season Pass, something which adds in two original episodes and a new story.
The Ultimate Edition meanwhile is looking like the best bet for the most hardcore, with a £74.99 price attached. This brings together everything in the Deluxe Edition but also includes the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Music Compilation Pack that will become available from the Spring to drop 11 additional tunes from the anime. It’ll also provide access to The Tao Pai Pai Pillar from the Spring too.
That season pass is also available as a separate purchase for £19.99, whilst anyone failing to pre-order the game but now wanting to pick up a few bonuses can do so for £3.99 – that gives an extra cooking item, a new sub-quest, and an early unlock to Bonyu’s Training.
Just remember, only you can do this… you are number one!
