A World Corrupted By Dragon Blood

The story of Dragonkin: The Banished unfolds in a world where dragons have reshaped the land itself. Their blood has corrupted nature, spawning monstrous creatures that rise from beneath the earth.

Players take on the role of elite dragon hunters tasked with tracking down and defeating the powerful Dragon Lords responsible for this devastation.

Across jungles, volcanoes, glaciers, swamps and ancient ruins, every region presents new enemies, resources and secrets waiting to be uncovered as humanity fights to reclaim its world.

Four Heroes Ready For The Hunt

Players can choose from four distinct hero classes, each with their own combat style and abilities.

  • The Tracker – a deadly hunter who relies on traps, poisons and precise attacks
  • The Barbarian – a dragon-blooded warrior wielding immense strength and ice powers
  • The Oracle – a mystic fighter using lightning-charged dragon magic
  • The Knight – a stalwart defender armed with a devastating fire lance

Each class evolves through gear upgrades, new abilities and powerful build combinations that shape how you tackle the battlefield.

The Ancestral Grid – Build Your Perfect Hero

One of the most unique systems in Dragonkin: The Banished is its Ancestral Grid, a deep character progression mechanic that allows players to customise their abilities in strategic ways.

Skills are earned as loot during combat and then placed within the grid alongside modifiers. Optimising this layout becomes key to creating powerful builds, enabling players to craft unique combinations of abilities tailored to their playstyle.

With each hero possessing their own grid, the number of possible builds grows dramatically as the adventure progresses.

Hunt Together In Online Co-Op

While dragon hunting is dangerous work alone, Dragonkin: The Banished allows players to tackle its world together.

The entire adventure can be experienced in online co-op for up to four players, from story missions through to endgame challenges. Between hunts, players return to the City of Montescail, the last major bastion of humanity.

This city acts as the game’s central hub, evolving as players upgrade buildings, recruit new residents and unlock services that strengthen their heroes.

From Early Access To Full Release

Before launching on consoles, Dragonkin: The Banished spent a year in Early Access on Steam, allowing the development team to refine the experience based on community feedback.

With Mostly Positive reviews on Steam, the full release represents the final version of the game, bringing its dragon-slaying adventure to consoles for the first time.

For fans of action RPGs packed with loot, co-op battles and deep character builds, the hunt is officially underway.

Is Dragonkin: The Banished on Game Pass?

We’d love to say that Dragonkin: The Banished is on Game Pass at launch, but unfortunately it is being held back from the subscription service. That may change in the future, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated should it ever arrive.

Further, Dragonkin: The Banished does not utilise Xbox Play Anywhere either.

Begin The Dragon Hunt

Dragonkin: The Banished is available now on PC and through the Blood Scales Edition on consoles, with the Standard Edition launching on March 19th for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

Whether you choose to stalk prey as the Tracker, unleash elemental fury as the Oracle, or charge headfirst into battle as the Barbarian, one thing is certain, the dragons won’t defeat themselves.
