With a team of former AAA games developers in place, and past work having covered the likes of Halo, BioShock, Mortal Kombat and more, it could be said that the team at The Molasses Flood know a thing or two about what makes a great game. That was proven with their first foray into the independent games scene with the hugely entertaining The Flame in the Flood. And they look set to follow that up with an equally as intriguing experience in Drake Hollow on Xbox One and PC. Today, that all-important release date confirmation has become known.

Drake Hollow is the next highly anticipated game from The Molasses Flood, working a village building action adventure premise that many are set to love. And today we can confirm that it’ll be coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 on July 17th, with a newly announced Steam version also due to drop on that day.

Fans of cooperation, city building, or just god damn delightful video games are going to love what Drake Hollow provides, as we get thrown into the world of The Hollow, left to build and defend the villages of the lovable Drakes.

Working either alone or with friends, it’ll be up to you to follow the guidance of a mysterious crow as you go about exploring a dynamically generated and aether-swept world of islands, all in hope that your skills, wit, and charm can help the Drakes restore their camp.

The promise of many mysteries and much reward provides the main draw of Drake Hollow, but you should also expect a good old smattering of danger, with those curious enough to search every nook and cranny of The Hollow, well rewarded. And as you explore the wilderness and set up valuable supply routes to bring essentials back to camp, will discover the best course of action in rescuing and protecting a variety of Drakes from a menagerie of feral beasts. Doing so wil see you earning unique skills and player enhancing buffs.

At all times you’ll need to ensure that the village is not just well-stocked, but also well-defended, because only then will the Drakes be able to survive, and with it, the unravelling of the peculiar and ancient connection between The Hollow and our world.

“I’m proud of the hard work and determination our team put into Drake Hollow,” said Forrest Dowling, CEO and Design Lead at The Molasses Flood. “We got some fantastic feedback from early testing and we’re excited to invite all players into our mystical, magical take on an alternate-universe New England on July 17th.”

Of course, we’ll be sure to remind you when that July 17th release date of Drake Hollow on Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam occurs. And if you wish to know more about how The Molasses Flood have gone about creating Drake Hollow, we’ve got something special lined up – keep an eye out for an exclusive interview and hands-on piece real soon.
