Forget supercars, rally machines, pristine open-wheelers or anything you’ll find in Forza – Driving Is Hard has a rather more uncomfortable proposition.
Now available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC players, you get to take control of a bathtub on wheels as you try to clamber across some seriously unforgiving terrain. Priced at ÂŁ8.39, this physics-based challenge looks determined to test both your driving skills and your patience.

Welcome To The World’s Most Difficult Bath
Driving Is Hard puts you in control of Jeff, whose chosen mode of transport is about as practical as you’d expect from a bathtub with wheels attached.
The controls are simple, but the physics are anything but. You’ll need to carefully navigate steep terrain, balance the bathtub and recover from mistakes without throwing away all your progress. Falling is very much part of the experience, so expect to spend plenty of time working out exactly how much momentum is too much momentum.
There are seven worlds to conquer, each bringing its own challenges and mechanics as Jeff’s journey becomes increasingly demanding.
How Hard Do You Want Your Driving?
If the name wasn’t already a clue, Driving Is Hard isn’t particularly interested in making life easy for you. There are actually three difficulty options to choose from.
Driving Is Easy provides a more relaxed experience with checkpoints, while Driving Is Hard delivers the original challenge. Then there’s Driving Is Insane, which is apparently reserved for people who look at a physics-based bathtub and think, “Yes, make that worse.”
Whichever option you choose, the core idea remains the same – master the physics, learn from every spectacular tumble and gradually improve your control.
Keep Calm And Carry On Driving
Driving Is Hard is a physics-based driving challenge with a ridiculous vehicle, simple controls and the potential to make you question every decision that led you to a bathtub-based career.
At ÂŁ8.39 from the Xbox Store, Xbox and PC players can now find out just how difficult bathtub driving really is. It’s on Steam and the Nintendo eShop too.
The important thing is not whether you fail – apparently, you definitely will – but whether you can dust yourself off, climb back into the tub and have another go.
