DUCK Dangerous Ultimate Cartridge Kidnapper
DUCK Dangerous Ultimate Cartridge Kidnapper – out now on console

The instances of WarioWare-esque microgame compilations are few and far between, especially when it comes to console releases.

Those over at Duck Team and Valkyrie Initiative are looking to change this, with the release on console of the downright bonkers DUCK: Dangerous Ultimate Cartridge Kidnapper.

You Must be Ducking Mad

Now available on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch, DUCK: Dangerous Ultimate Cartridge Kidnapper has been purchasable on PC via Steam for a good couple of years now.

Following the discovery of a magical 100-in-1 game cartridge by a bunch of ducklings, who now must play all the games to escape the grip of said compilation, your task is to take on the role of one of these ducklings and play these games to your heart’s content!

Of course, with 100 microgames packaged in, each is over in less than a minute. Whilst each game is incredibly crazy, they range in theme from poking cats in the face, dashing around the place in a twin-stick shooter, or dueling it out as a cowboy.

Obviously, microgames are best enjoyed with friends or family in tow. Luckily, DUCK features local co-op for up to five players, in the form of a hotseat mode where players play one after another. DUCK therefore ensures that you can play through all of the games in order to secure bragging rights.

And with 15 categories of 5-10 microgames being featured, each with three difficulty levels, as well as a ‘boss game’ category, there’s tons to be getting on with.

Key Features

  • Variety – 15 categories of 5-10 microgames each with three difficulty levels, plus a separate category for boss games.
    • Different styles of pixel graphics, lots of unique tunes and sounds. And even the playthrough can be interesting, because you never know what’s going to happen!
    • And finally—as you progress through the story mode, play through the games and fulfill special conditions, you can unlock all 16 decorative panels—arcade, Greek, comic, summer, brick and more!
  • Game Modes – In story mode, the ducklings will definitely get through all 100 games with your help, 5 ducklings are 5 main chapters.
    • Open games appear in the vault, where you can choose any of them and practice, pass on all difficulties.
    • And finally, there is a survival mode—try to get the highest score!
    • However… No one prevents you from plunging into the unknown with your friends by activating one of the party modes!
  • The warm atmosphere of childhood – The spirit has locked the ducklings in a room in the house of a typical duckling of the time.
    • Small cozy room, the rays of the setting sun streaming through the window, you and your friends gathered in front of the screen of a tubby TV, and in the console—a cartridge with a bunch of interesting games!

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
