The wait for another season of college football is over, but EA SPORTS College Football 27 is taking a slightly different route to the starting line. Depending on which edition you buy – or even where you live – you could already be taking to the field, while others will have to wait until later this week.
Launching on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, EA’s latest collegiate football sim builds on last year’s hugely successful revival, adding deeper Dynasty management, an expanded Road to Glory mode and even more of the pageantry that makes Saturday football so special.

Which Version Of College Football 27 Can You Play?
This year’s launch is staggered across multiple editions, giving eager fans several ways to hit the gridiron before the Standard Edition arrives. But it is a little confusing to say the least…
The Deluxe Edition (ÂŁ99.99) unlocks on July 6th, granting three days of Early Access alongside 4,600 College Football Points, Ultimate Team rewards, Dynasty Coach Points, Road to Glory Skill Points and exclusive solo challenges.
Looking even further ahead, the EA SPORTS MVP Bundle (ÂŁ139.99) combines the Deluxe Editions of both EA SPORTS College Football 27 and EA SPORTS Madden NFL 27, packing together bonus content for both games ahead of Madden’s launch next month.
Meanwhile, players in the United States and Canada have an additional option. The new EA SPORTS MVP+ Membership grants access from today – July 2nd – offering seven days of Early Access alongside a year of Ultimate Team rewards, beta access, mascot unlocks, exclusive progression bonuses and every Deluxe Edition benefit across both College Football 27 and Madden NFL 27.
Building Your Own College Football Dynasty
On the field, College Football 27 looks to expand almost every major mode from last year’s game rather than reinvent the formula.
The headline addition is the new Dynasty Blueprint system, handing players greater control over every aspect of their programme. Recruiting, NIL management, coaching staff, facilities and Athletic Director expectations all become part of the balancing act as you attempt to build a national powerhouse over multiple seasons.
For fans who spend hundreds of hours in Dynasty mode, this could prove to be the biggest addition in this year’s release.
Road To Glory And Mascot Mayhem
Career mode also receives plenty of attention.
Road to Glory introduces additional player customisation, new positions and more ways to shape your collegiate career, whether you’re chasing the Heisman Trophy, landing lucrative NIL deals or improving your NFL Draft stock.
If you’re after something rather less serious, Mascot Mashup returns with over 120 playable mascots, turning traditional football into wonderfully chaotic 11-on-11 showdowns packed with oversized costumes, exaggerated celebrations and plenty of school spirit.
And then, one of last year’s biggest successes was recreating the atmosphere surrounding college football, and EA appears keen to build on that foundation.
Enhanced presentation, dynamic weather, updated broadcast packages and expanded traditions all aim to make each game feel more authentic, while gameplay refinements promise smarter AI, more responsive player movement and improved battles between receivers and defensive backs.
Ready For Kick-Off?
After recent College Football outings, expectations are naturally much higher for EA SPORTS College Football 27. Whether you’re rebuilding a struggling programme in Dynasty, chasing individual glory in Road to Glory or simply looking to recreate the electric atmosphere of Saturdays under the lights, there’s plenty here to dive into.
Early Access is underway today for eligible editions and subscribers, while the Standard Edition arrives for everyone else on July 9th across Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
